cappymo14 Posted March 2, 2019 Posted March 2, 2019 He stuck with Phinisee on the point guard after a pick and let his man slide to the bucket untouched. That's inexcusable at this point of the season. It’s hedging with the center. I hate it. A hedge is used to stop momentum on a ball screen. Stop momentum and push penetration east and west. Stick with it too long and you’ll get absolutely fried. That’s what is happening. Can’t switch there so it has to be a quick re-direct and get outta dodge. My suggestion is to hedge with Smith and Thompson like they did the last game against MSU. Added quickness took away the easy bunnies for the most part.Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app VO5 1 Quote

HoosierDYT Posted March 2, 2019 Posted March 2, 2019 Why can Michigan State get layup after layup and execute an offense that produces good shots on a consistent basis and we....can't? I hate our offense. This is a recording.I hate to sound redundant but it’s not that hard. Good shooters space the floor and make the pick and roll much more effective (aka Winston almost having a double double)Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app Hillsdale87 1 Quote
VO5 Posted March 2, 2019 Posted March 2, 2019 Just can’t stop them. Don’t see any way we come back from this Quote
LamarCheeks Posted March 2, 2019 Posted March 2, 2019 I know Smith's feeling it from the 3, but if on that last one, he would've faked the 3 and drove -- he would've had an easy dunk. There was nobody on that side of the court but him and his defender. ray 1 Quote

Unfortunately guys like Morgan and Davis don’t have the lateral quickness to effectively hedge against great point guards like Winston. But if you look at the bigs we’re recruiting, most have great lateral quickness and lengthSent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app cappymo14 1 Quote
schoosier Posted March 2, 2019 Posted March 2, 2019 Olay defense not getting it done. You also notice Mich St sets real screens where we’re just going thru the motions. Just note playing hard enough to win. Where’s Race? HoosierDYT 1 Quote

But Winston sees and controls everything. The ball goes to the right place every single time. Great player. Right now Winston and Rob is an utter mismatch. HoosierDYT 1 Quote
LamarCheeks Posted March 2, 2019 Posted March 2, 2019 Again, we have to lead the NCAA in moving screens. Quote
cthomas Posted March 2, 2019 Posted March 2, 2019 They're playing better defense, getting better shots, and have better shooters. Pretty simple really. On a side note, Izzo is an arrogant S.O.B. Quote
