Stuhoo Posted May 1, 2018 Posted May 1, 2018 I'm in the camp that this young man should have his own thread; I kinda expect him to commit to play for Indiana! http://www.espn.com/mens-college-basketball/player/_/id/3146558/evan-fitzner MemphisHoosier and lillurk 2 Quote

JSHoosier Posted May 1, 2018 Posted May 1, 2018 A guy that averaged 5 and 3 for St. Mary's, and shot 40% in a small sample size last year. I'll pass. Quote

I'd say we have to trust the staff on this one. They're not going to bring someone in unless they can contribute, IMO. I am concerned this may be a sign of Deron's status in returning as well. Hoosierfan0302 Posted May 1, 2018 Posted May 1, 2018 As a redshirt freshman in 2015-16, he averaged 8.7 points and 4.4 rebounds, shooting 41 percent (55-for-134) from the arc. He lost playing time due to the team deciding to go smaller .Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners Milldawg12 1 Quote

Stuhoo Posted May 1, 2018 Author Posted May 1, 2018 Max Bielfeldt was universally acclaimed as a huge success in an Indiana uniform, after he blew past his prior career achievements to average 8.2 ppg and 4.8 rpg. Evan Fitzner, as a freshman, averaged 8.7 ppg and 4.4 rpg for a 26-5 St. Mary's team. Not that he'd be as valuable at IU as Max, but the potential is there. thebigweave and lillurk 2 Quote
biteoftheapple Posted May 1, 2018 Posted May 1, 2018 Are you guaranteeing he will be as successfull? Quote

When Evan Fitzner sees our facilities, meets the coaching staff and players, visits his academic interests (his dad was a Stanford guy) and sees the potential of this team, I'm guessing he'll be all in too. Popular Post Hoosierfan2017 Posted May 1, 2018 Popular Post Posted May 1, 2018 We've got an open scholarship, and we need another big guy. Is there a better grad transfer big out there we could get? Maybe, I really don't know. But, if we don't use the scholarship it goes to waste. I see nothing wrong with this. If it doesn't pan out then we don't lose anything because it's only for one year.
