I can’t believe you guys are doing this. I’ve really enjoyed watching this team get better this year BUT I think I’ve seen enough. Hard for me to get excited for a possibility of the NIT bid

Water found its mark today. Five #1 seeds lost. It's almost like they all said, "Hey, let's all lose and go to the NIT so IU can't go."

Last night I was so distraught at the idea of not getting to play in the NIT and redeem ourselves after last year's embarrassment, I almost went looking for a UC-Davis message board so I could give them hell for missing 3 free throws in the last 5 seconds and bursting our bubble, but then I thought I'd better save it for when more #1 seeds went down today.

After mulling it over, I don't really have the energy or desire to hunt down message boards for Hampton, Vermont, Southeast Louisiana, Louisiana-Lafayette or Arkansas Pine-Bluff and go through the tedious process of registering, getting approved and typing out all my angst about playing 31 games and not getting that coveted NIT invite, then trying to convince their fans that while they may have better resumés and they kick our butts when it comes to return on investment, we're still a better draw and always will be. And then I'd have to come up with a screen name...maybe IU4NIT2018 or 1979NITCHAMPS.

 

Speaking of Arkansas-Pine Bluff...the NYC buckets dude finally heard back from the NCAA. Since they weren't the SWAC's regular season champion, they will not be getting an auto-bid to the NIT. At least I got some closure on that.

 

Hopefully the NIT will realize what a mistake they made leaving out our 16-15 Hoosiers when nobody tunes in to watch Rider or Wagner. I have the utmost confidence that next year, we will leave no doubt that we deserve to be in. WE WILL BE BACK!!! (or maybe we'll just make the real tourney, like we're supposed to)

If you'd said Josh Newkirk, I would agree with you but when Green plays under control, I really like to watch him play.  When he reverts to his playground stuff then definitely I agree with you.

I have no idea what that means when it pertains to an honest, obvious opinion of how awful Devonte Green has played this season.

name calling and player (and to a lesser extent, coaches) bashing is not permitted.  You've been around boards long enough to know what that means.

First time I have ever seen someone up in arms about this. I am honestly somewhat astonished. Name calling a player? No, it's literally an observation of their play. Our guards are horrible.

Green was inconsistent not awful. And while he is a sophomore he was being asked to do things he should have been asked as a freshmen. Hopefully he can be more consistent. He had that 4 game stretch in early February that if he can replicate it we will be very happy. 

Hipefully he can take a leap like Juwan.

No he's awful. It's literally all about expectation level.. there were literally games Archie could not play him because he was so bad. You can use the word inconsistent, but when he was "inconsistent" he would have 4 TOs, be 1-5 from the field with 3 bad shots and be getting whipped off the dribble.... in about 12 mins because he was just a liability.

So a couple of bad games for an underclass men makes a player awful.  Makes sense to "some" people

His plus minus throughout the season is next to identical to Newkirk and his body language, lack of assertiveness,  lack of leadership, shot selection, and getting himself into bad situation are awful.. I really don't care what grade he is in. Kamar Baldwin is a SO and 100x the player Green is, same with TJ Gibbs. Green is soft. He had about 5 good games all year.

Not up in arms, just hate it when grown people bash a player.  Didn't say you'd said anything about coaches, just pointing out what the rules of this forum are.

Well he had probably closer to 8 or so "good" games. A bunch of "meh" games then some horrid ones. 

Almost the exact definition of inconsistent.

Good Green was by far our best guard. He was fantastic in those games. I hope he stays and that Archie is able to reign him in and get "good Green" more often.
