That last five minutes was the most fun I’ve had watching this team all year. Yes, more fun than watching the Notre Dame win. Do you know why?

Because we beat them due to one overriding reason: we played harder than them!

I was saying over the last few minutes that Minny wouldn't hesitate to lose the game if you let them. I did appreciate the effort they put forth. It's amazing what a little effort will do. Now, if we could get Newkirk to play more like McBob.

I think McRoberts is rubbing off on this team. He may not be a big vocal leader but his hustle and passion is making an impact. I wish he could be on the floor at all times.

Yep! One game, but I think that is our best lineup. Combines skill with effort. When that lineup was on the floor together they looked good. Al and McBob didn't do much offensively but they played hard on D and it made the difference

I'm also starting to think me watching live games is some sort of jinx. Missed this one and Notre Dame live. Watched the poopers.

 

Anyway. This was a fun game watch. We weren't flawless at all but like Stu said the hustle improvement was a joy.

 

Devonte Green and Newkirk are 2 of the lower court IQ players I can rembember.

I definitely appreciate the effort, and they definitely seem to be coming together. But wow, we have a couple players who seem to play the game with blinders on. I can't remember ever seeing seniors with so little awareness of what is going on around them, where they are on the court, and what the situation calls for at a given moment. That game should have been over long before we almost allowed them back in it. Thankfully, we made all our free throws at the end.
