Plays AAU on WeR1 on the UA circuit.  That's the same team as Eric Ayala; however, Dixon played in the 16U division.

Wow. This worries me about Romeo. I do like Hinton though, and apparently Archie does too.

I really get the impression that Archie values OADs a lot lesss than other coaches

He coaches a system that takes years to learn could be one reason.

That being said I think Schilling will have to be the one to bring Romeo here if he comes.

Good; the video don't lie. He's got some real ability. Goes to an excellent school. Plays with attitude and passion.

Archie is seeing a lot of him in person. If Archie pursues heavily, we'll know that Hinton is the real deal.

Michael Carter Williams of Syracuse comes to mind as a tall PG.

For the record, I can get on board with this very easily. Love his highlight package. If this kid plays with consistency he had recently he's a borderline 5 star in my opinion.

Archie is trying to figure out if this kid is busting through or if it's a fluke.

I don't entirely trust that jumper yet. He has a somewhat weird release and the ball has off axis rotation sometimes. I'd love a big lead guard though.

Right. But he wouldn't need to be a volume shooter at PG if he can get to the rack, then drive and kick until that jumper gets there.

If we got this kid we could run some huge lineups out there.

Hinton - 6'6

Hunter - 6'7

Smith/Anderson - 6'7

Morgan/Thompson/Moore - 6'8/6'8/6'10

Davis - 6'10

(Not predicting a starting lineup or anything, just thinking about different possibilities and the matchup problems we could create with a 6'6 pg.)

A 6-6 pg with length? Yes, please.

I have nothing against shorter pg. I don't think the shorter pg get taken advantage of like they do in the NBA. (Post up by other guards) however, if height is the only difference give me the taller point any day of the week.

Let's say we get Hinton and no one else.  A couple years down the road we've got:

6'6" Hinton (PG)

6'7" Hunter (SG per reports)

6'7" Smith (SF/Wing)

6'8" Race Thompson (PF)

6'10" Clifton Moore

Hooooooly Stromboli.  Race would likely play man on opposing big, letting the help defense of a packline let Clifton and Smith go swatting away any attempts.  The long arms of Hinton and Hunter would obstruct the opposing guards from getting anywhere or any shots getting launched.

It's going to be fun to put 50% of our attention on defense, and judge players based on their abilities on both ends.

EDIT:  Ha Hoosierfan2017 beat me to it.  I'm sure we're all thinking it.

Haha great minds think alike

I'm hoping that we can land this kid. We've had some great guards in recent years, but there are limitations when you're starting two barely 6' guards like we did with Yogi and Hulls. Being able to go 6'6/6'7 would be great.

I don't care how tall they are as long as they don't turn the ball over!
