I’m not angry, just disappointed as I thought this was coming to a close and TJD and perhaps Brooks both, were going to commit soon and continue with the momentum. Our momentum will have to be done on the court until spring it seems, and that’s fine as I think we’re looking at a good year.  
Very interested in what Pap and Chris have for us when they post hopefully today, because I do now feel like IU isn’t the leader we all thought on TJD.   One thought about the PR around a recruitment like this and if he’s looking for the Romeo treatment.  He’ll get that and the IU chants at all the game etc.  However, how many times would his name be mentioned on  broadcasts during IU games (seemingly when IU is looking good this year) by announcers talking about how good our class is coming in and who’s in it......

Doesn't this board always seem to think we lead for every recruit and almost always never is the case. I don't ever have my hopes up on this recruiting thing. Best to let it play out and not get too emersed.

I have said many times the staff doesn't speak about TJD anymore and I don't ask. That's not in a bad way I know they really want him I just choose to bring it up. So I have no inside information about him. I have thought he would have been a Hoosiers 2 or 3 times already. I would listen to pap or Uspshoosier who lives there about this recruiting. From what I understand mom wants IU, stepdad wants MSU or UCLA but not IU. MSU convinced him to give them more time and watch how they play this year. He's their 2nd or 3rd option for a big guy so not sure why he is listening to them. This recruitment has lasted too long for me so I'm over it. He's not Romeo. I like the way Race, Moore, Forrester has gotten better so I think we will be OK either way. 

This board got the shaft because I’m literally the only person that lives in this area that doesn’t have a guy who knows a guy that knows the family. Lol. This year I have sat by 4 different people at 4 football games and according to them they all know the family and TJD. He is a lock for Iowa (I didn’t even argue)
He doesn’t even like IU they are not even an option. UCLA is where he is going. They are moving to California. He is going closest to home so IU is his only choice. Try holding a straight face with some of these people while they are saying some of this stuff. I just shook my head
When your community has a high level athlete at least around here everyone wants to try and be a part of it. I’m guessing New Albany was the same way last year.
I have 0 inside info but I can gather all the available information on the situation and give my opinion. I still feel IU will he where he ends up just not when most thought it would be. I will say Indy Star did a interview with him on September 20 and laid out what he was thinking about signing early and from what was reported yesterday was the same thing he told the Indy Star almost 2 months ago. He has been a pleasure to follow for the last 4 years and his growth as a player has been fun to watch. He could choose MSU or UCLA tomorrow and I will still be ready to cheer him and the Trojans on November 20th

Can anyone really blame a kid for wanting to watch the schools that he is considering play some games to make sure they are having success and how they utilize the players they could possibly be playing with next year. I can’t. I also think that TJD is number 3 on the MSU pecking order behind Carey and Stewart. IU will be fine regardless but they have to win this year and pick up some tourney wins as well to get consistent recruiting success. Not to mention Romeo needs to be a high lottery pick as well to help sell these types of recruits on getting guys to the NBA.

That is awfully strong. I get your feelings as an IU fan and I don’t disagree. As a person that wants their child to be one and done because it’s their dream you are going to look at only that aspect. Which coach has proven he can get you there in better shape than originally thought.

It seemed like Brooks had a better time at the official visit to be and more of a news for him on next year's roster.

I bet Izzo is selling it as we want you away from the basket. That is how you improve your NBA appeal. They want you as a back to the basket five.

That’s not coming just as an IU fan but as a high school coach that has heard some of the things that have gone on with Izzo and the program from from High School coaches and other college coaches in Michigan.

Personally my thoughts on Izzo differ from alot of other. I truely think that with the talent year in, year out that he has had, I would have thought that there would be a few more banners hanging.

Well, if so he had better get to work on that because I have seen none of that in his game. Guess we will see how that goes during the HS season. Alot of kids get pigeonholed to the paint when they are that size.

Conspiracy Theory: TJD is doing this so that when CG plays Lalu in December IU fans will come out in full force to show their love for him and Brooks. Not to mention I think he wants some of the attention Romeo got. Obviously he won’t get as much but he still wants people at his games.

I am not speaking against what you are saying happens. I am saying that isn’t what the stepdad is worried about. You are focusing on that aspect because you are an IU fan. Every school is reminding every recruit followed by MSU of this. Calling him an idiot is a bit strong and wrong because you have no clue the information the family has.
