Definitely glad he's back.

Newkirk/Green
Rojo/CuJo/Durham/Gelon
Hartman/Smith
Morgan/McSwain
DD/Moore/Priller

Would be my starting 5. (Assuming Hartman can get healthy)

Our starting 5 looks pretty decent on paper. Moore and Smith will need to contribute. Decent guard depth with Green and CuJo.

I can see Green getting nearly as many minutes as Newkirk/Rojo.

Might need this lineup for a lot of the game.

Newkirk
Green
Rojo
Morgan
Davis

I like the starting 5 but switch Newkirk for Green. I want Green to start and distribute to Davis, Johnson, and Morgan (in that order). I like Newkirk off the bench to be more of a scoring threat.

I hear you but no way Newkirk doesn't end up starting.

I could see Newkirk, Green, Rojo and Hartman as sixth man before I see Newkirk not starting.

Probably true but I'd like to give Green the keys because I think he's a better playmaker and it would give Green a year of OJT.

We should be solid in the backcourt and lacking depth upfront. I could see us going three guards to start. There's 120 minutes needed up front with Davis, Morgan, and Hartman getting the bulk of those minutes. We'll need about 40 combined minutes from Smith, McSwain, Moore, a third guard and possibly Priller.

I agree Newkirk is a starter at the start of the season but not convinced he'll be a starter at the end of the season.  He'll still get minutes but I think he'll be edged out of his starting spot by Green.  I'm expecting a significant jump in Green's level of performance under CAM's tutelage.

Hopefully, minutes will be divided amongst those that buy in to defense and team basketball. That will be a huge head start from what we have seen for a decade.

He said Trial by error. Going to find out who can play.

I trust Miller much more than Crean in this regard. Very curious to see where McRoberts falls in the rotation.

I am curious about McRoberts as well. He may not have the most talent of any guy on the team, but he worked his butt off when he got a chance. I really like that sort of player.

He's not going to win any shooting contests nor will he out athlete anyone but he knows basketball. He communicates, knows angles, knows help side defense, knows to find the open man. I wouldn't be shocked if he gets 5-10 minutes per game in meaningful games.

I like Mcroberts, but he shouldn't ever get in the game unless we're in foul trouble. He was a deer in the headlights on offense and a non factor. Sure he hustles on D and dives on the floor. But how many guys just sagged off of him to help on our more effective offensive players?

If McRoberts is getting legitimate minutes next year then we're in trouble, imo. He's a liability on offense and we won't have as much offense firepower as we did last year. We're going to need all five guys on the court to be able to score and I just don't see that from him. He gives great effort, but ideally we'll get all the guys on the team to buy in and give his level of effort. Last year that didn't happen and that was how he was able to get minutes.
