Kentucky's Hamidou Diallo will test the NBA waters. No surprise. NBA personnel have been gathering more & more intel on him as of late

@evansdaniels

Redshirt a semester and done. That could be a new one

Kentucky's Diallo is testing waters without an agent

As if I couldn't hate pUKe enough, and yes I know he is not hiring an agent and all that jazz, but to me this just seems like a giant middle finger to the NCAA, universities, and to every student athlete that has ever been under scholarship. We all know that pUKe is a funnel for the one-n-dones but for a kid to enroll in January then to test the waters? Talking with a few pUKe fans this morning, they said yeah we knew he would do this but he isn't going anywhere he can't shoot! That maybe but if he somehow has a decent shooting night at one of the evaluations, with the potential that he is said to have in athleticism, this kid could be a 1 redshirt term and done. What an absolute waste of funds that would be on the university.

Something needs to be done with the NBA or NCAA to stop the one-n-done madness. All it would take would be for the NCAA to propose a rule about athletic scholarships to change it. I know its all about the money anymore but there is potential here to have a college scholly player that never steps foot on the court for there school and goes directly to the NBA.

One of my all-time favorite Rupp Rafters/UK fan exchanges is below. Let me set the stage:

  • 5 star "student athlete" Hamidou Diallo commits to UK and joins their team last December
  • Diallo works out with the team, but apparently, even when offered by Calipari, says "no thank you" when asked to play in games
  • Yesterday, "student athlete" Diallo, after four months with a jersey but not one second of playing time, declares for the NBA draft, and is unlikely to return to UK in the fall.

And now, for the best part: the two UK fans with a point - counterpoint that only Kentucky logic could devise:

Cal has stated he wanted to let Diallo play but Diallo said he didn't want to play this year. Whats Cal going to do??? Kick him off the team for not going in when asked?

Dreklie

Not even sign him. Lol. Now dude will get a completely free education anytime in his life he needs it, and for what?

Sounds like this kid doesn't want to expose any flaws on T.V. Like I said earlier, the pUKe fans here admitted the kid has potential but can't shoot. Maybe he's just "using" the system to slide into the NBA on potential.

Not good for the rest of college bball, but Berry isn't a player that will make it in the NBA imo

I'm told he forgot to submit his papers to the NBA.
