KingPG21 Posted April 4, 2017 Posted April 4, 2017 So far the bigger shocks are the kids going without agents, Jarett Allen, John Collins are the big two that jump out to me. Quote
reconmkd Posted April 4, 2017 Author Posted April 4, 2017 News doesn't look so hot for JBJ, there are several guards already. Quote
CR3AMnCR1MS0N Posted April 4, 2017 Posted April 4, 2017 This is a good link that has all the transfers so far: http://www.verbalcommits.com/transfers/2017 Looked at PGs in that list. Only two who'd be immediately eligible even look statistically decent, Daniel III from Howard, and Jiggets from Farleigh Dickinson. Both averaged double digits in scoring and 4+ APG (Daniel of played two games though), but both averaged more turnovers than Newkirk (who averaged 2.2/game). reconmkd 1 Quote

It's a deep draft. If Allen comes back he could possibly be top 10 in next years draft. This year he might not even be top 20. KingPG21 and reconmkd 2 Quote
reconmkd Posted April 5, 2017 Author Posted April 5, 2017 Two more names I found this morning. I will try to keep this updated. Jaylen Adams, G, St. Bonaventure w/o agent Shaqquan Aaron, F, USC w/o agent (former Prostitute U) ALASKA HOOSIER, WayneFleekHoosier and CR3AMnCR1MS0N 3 Quote
Baltimore Hoosier Posted April 5, 2017 Posted April 5, 2017 It's crazy how Melo Trimble has fallen out of favor with NBA teams since the end of his freshman year.. I was listening to local sports talk in Baltimore on the way to work this morning and they were absolutely railing on him for leaving. I don't necessarily think another year in College Park would change his draft stock that much, although what's he got to lose at this point? This is a case of a guy who should have left after his freshman season. waitingon6, Brass Cannon, IUsafety and 4 others 7 Quote
reconmkd Posted April 6, 2017 Author Posted April 6, 2017 Add Briscoe from pUKe today. Man pUKe fans in the office are slamming him for declaring with an agent, say no way he gets drafted, he can't shoot. LMAO! IUsafety and Napleshoosier 2 Quote

I was listening to 105.7 about a month ago and they were discussing if Melo should declare because he's worn out his welcome?!?! Quote

Not being a UMD fan or fan of any of the local teams I don't typically pay attention to the local stuff, but this one time I tuned in they were talking about it. Just guessing, but I think it's because his play has kind of plateaued the last two seasons and they haven't really made a move in terms of league or tournament success. I also think the fans are really excited for their freshmen class this past season and may want the backcourt keys handed to Cowan. reconmkd 1 Quote
HoosierAloha Posted April 6, 2017 Posted April 6, 2017 I think it is the fan base listening to the media on how good he is. So maybe that has disappointed them? Personally, I thought Melo was the next Trey Burke. But he hasn't seemed to be able to make any sort of jump. The talent is there. He is bigger than Burke as well. He always has a super pretty jump shot and a snap of a release. I think they are just upset he isn't as good as the media makes him out to be. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile appNever understood the Melo hype every season. He's a great pick n roll lead guard. I don't think he was elite at anything else besides snapping his own neck. Good, not great, player. reconmkd and Tom White 2 Quote
reconmkd Posted April 6, 2017 Author Posted April 6, 2017 I just added some transfers that I saw today. Man some teams might have to recruit an entire high school team to fill the voids! Quote

UK has won one title in ten years of the Calipari era, and there has been only one Cal-recruited scholly player (Poythress) that received a UK degree during that time (though I think Hawkins may get one). The team plays in an off-campus arena, and their players stay at a private lodge. They only attract high-end players who have the specific goal of staying for as short a time as possible. This year they will likely lose Fox, Monk, Willis, Abedayo, Mulder, Briscoe, Humphries, and Hawkins. That's eight of their top nine. If Gabriel goes, their top returning scorer will be Wynard, a Kyle Taber-like player who averaged 0.7 ppg last season. With a new top eight full of five star players, the polls will undoubtedly make the exact same mistake from so many other years, and rank them way, way, way too high. They will be turnover prone and weak in outside shooting when they play accomplished teams. They are a failure. IUsafety, reconmkd, Hardwood83 and 12 others 15 Quote
