I want both of them back. Only Newkirk if it is Billy D cause he could coach him to play smarter. I love what Freddie brings too. His energy and hustle are not coachable. One more year wont hurt either party. Heck Priller has some unfound potential too.

Here's what worries me about anonymous and media sources.

I know 2 things that have been reported to be completely wrong at one or time another. Neither correlates directly, but are sort of related to Crean's firing. One involves a posting on this board where supposedly someone important in the process still liked Crean. I actually know someone who knows this person very well and this important person was more than ready for Crean to move on despite what got posted. The second is a story where the media got everything wrong in terms of what it said regarding fan anger towards Crean and I have seen with my own eyes to the contrary.

Don't ask me anything else because I won't address it but I can promise you this is why I get so questionable of anything I read in the media or what people post until it's a done deal.

With this said I have no idea who IU is hiring or why Crean was fired and whether it involved the supposed booster mutiny as has been reported or was Glass's own decision.

Let me clear, I'm not necessarily saying Alford is they guy I want and I am NOT saying he is the savior of IU basketball. We all know his warts and it isn't pretty. I just gave my opinion of what I believe will happen from what I heard Glass said. He became giddy as a school girl when the phrase Indiana guy was mentioned. That points to one guy, again, in my opinion. 

Well that's different, and more than fair in my mind.
I think however that many of the criteria listed by Glass other than the local ties do not favor Alford.

Yeah? He said he would talk to them about a lot of candidates so people will rush to a decision thinking it is the guy when he is gonna ask them about EVERY candidate. My source said that the exact words were "what would you say if I said Billy Donovan would be our next head coach?" he said his coach responded with can I come too lol. He did say a few others were talked about but from the convo Billy D was the one the most answers he was wanting was. He said Dane Fife, Steve Alford, Archie Miller and Bennett were brought up but nothing more than a what could he do in this state. He did say the coach said Alford was a home run in state but said what about nationally as well.

Good reasons for pause. For reference as much as we all love IU some people will attempt to troll us. Thanks for the info though I am very excited for the possibility.
