IU Hoosier41 Posted March 18, 2017 Posted March 18, 2017 Thoughts on this hit piece? They REALLY went in on Indiana...http://www.si.com/college-basketball/2017/03/17/indiana-tom-crean-fired-jim-john-harbaugh Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app Quote
mdn82 Posted March 18, 2017 Posted March 18, 2017 I am fine with it. Two sides to every story and I don't blame them for feeling this way. That said it was best for both.Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app Class of '66 Old Fart and Stuhoo 2 Quote
Dalton26 Posted March 18, 2017 Posted March 18, 2017 I'm fine with it too. I'd be more alarmed if they didn't stick up for their brother in law. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners Stuhoo, Class of '66 Old Fart and mdn82 3 Quote
Popular Post Hovadipo Posted March 18, 2017 Popular Post Posted March 18, 2017 What a whiny article. If you don't do your job right, you get fired. Expectations are high here, that isn't breaking news. Family will always stand up for family but sheesh that was annoying to read. Hoosierfan2017, ElectricBoogaloo, mdn82 and 5 others 8 Quote

jmsgws Posted March 18, 2017 Posted March 18, 2017 Like every good story, there is a grain of truth here. Some of it is sour grapes. This has been building up for the last three years. The rollercoaster that has been Indiana BB just became to much to overcome. DawgBawls and Alford Bailey 2 Quote
Yogi's Picnic Basket Posted March 18, 2017 Posted March 18, 2017 It is funny though. Who cares of anyone liked him here. They paid him to the amount of a top 10 coach and gave his daughter a free education. Any of us have bosses that dont know our name or care about us but ya know what? They pay us and keep food on the table and a roof over my head so regardless any boss I have had I have respected. Being in charge now my employees are my employees. If they dont do their job they get fired. It is that simple. Why should college coaches or athletes be held to a different standard when they get paid a heck of a lot more than most of us. If Crean won consistently here then we wouldnt be having this convo. If John missed the playoffs 5 years out of 9 he would be in jeopardy of losing his job as well. Jim is the only one who has an argument but the Niners wanted to go in a different direction and he sure didnt mind interviewing for other jobs before then as well. I understand being upset but other than that there is no need to take shots at our university. Sent from my LGLS676 using BtownBanners mobile app Quote

Double Down Posted March 18, 2017 Posted March 18, 2017 There's defending your family, then there is throwing a tantrum at people who can't and won't fight back. The three millionaires need to be graceful, walk away, and go about their business. Quote
Hoosierfan2017 Posted March 18, 2017 Posted March 18, 2017 Meh. The Harbaughs have always struck me as whiny so I'm not too surprised. Crean knew the expectations when he came here. IU gave him 9 years (6-7 after the rebuild, depending on how you feel about year 3) to meet those expectations. He didn't, so IU sent him on his way. IU is better off because of Tom Crean, and the Crean family is better off because of IU. It was just time for the two to go their separate ways. Nothing personal, strictly business. Class of '66 Old Fart Posted March 18, 2017 Posted March 18, 2017 A week from now, we'll be out of the mainstream media's interest until our new coach is named. They'll be too focused on events in the NCAA tournament or other coaching vacancies that arise. Quote
