Aaron Posted May 7, 2017 Posted May 7, 2017 I believe Blackmon was content to get out of IU hell or high water even if it means playing in Europe or D-league (I'm not criticizing him just making an observation). In end we get exact same roster Crean would of had in Archie's first year. All scholarships now accounted for next year and days of roster crunches, over signings and allegedly forcing people out are gone for good! Tom White, ALASKA HOOSIER and Class of '66 Old Fart 3 Quote
Aaron Posted May 7, 2017 Posted May 7, 2017 Kind of unrelated to this thread but Zeller's excellent character clearly shows again to come back to IU and finish degree and graduate. Not many people in Zeller's position do that given his relative NBA success and shows what a high class individual he is and how much he was raised right and values his education. Again shows between him, Hulls, Oladipo, Watford and Elston how strong leadership was on that team and why it was so successful. Than it all got away from Crean and why he is gone now. Hoosier Guy Posted May 7, 2017 Posted May 7, 2017 Probably not this year. Better? Yes. Good? I am not holding my breath for it. They'll be a top 4 team in the B1G and make the NCAA tournament. I'll take that for the first yearSent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app Quote

Popular Post Yogi's Picnic Basket Posted May 7, 2017 Popular Post Posted May 7, 2017 Haven't been on here much lately, but the JBJ news was expected. I was at open gym in Marion the other day and during Summer the Blackmons along with Zach Randolph always hold an event for the community, so the talk was JBJ felt like he didn't have a choice. The scholarship numbers hurt him and TB. Not saying Archie forced either of them, but once all 3 commits came back in the fold, this was the expected outcome, specially when Hartman decided to play another year. Point being is, let's not attack a kid who has been through as much as he has. The injuries alone would have been enough to make a kid question whether to play the game anymore, but JBJ always came back and never gave up. He is also a month away from actually graduating in 3 years. He never got in trouble off the court and always represented us well on it. His defense wasn't the greatest, but it was fun to watch him on offense. The critics who questioned his defense also never took in consideration what ACL injury(s) do to lateral quickness. His prospects of playing in the NBA aren't the greatest, but his ability to score will put him on someones radar and once he is, it will be up to him to make the most of it. Whether it is the D League or Euro, he made this decision because he believes in himself and I can't fault him for that. I hope he finds a way on a NBA bench and so should any IU fan. Like I said at the beginning of this, someone was gonna have to go and none of us know what happened behind the scenes, but at least now we know who will be here next year and who won't. I expect RoJo to announce soon he is coming back. Sent from my LGLS676 using BtownBanners mobile app BTOWN, Deserthoozier, Class of '66 Old Fart and 14 others 17 Quote

Crean was the perfect coach for him because he could jack up shots at will and there was no accountability for anything. I doubt he wanted to buy into Miller's team concept game at all.Sent from my SM-J700T using Tapatalk Tom White and Emberton 2 Quote

They get a percentage of the player's salary but I think the number varies from player to player. Quote

I'm just sharing what I read. What I find funny is how easily journalists are dismissed because they write an article which differs from one's belief. This does not pertain to just basketball or this forum.Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk Quote

Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk I agree but this is not a case of that. This is a case of Rabjohn's trying to get his own info out there on outside chance he is right even though it differs from everything else despite the original report probably being accurate. At least though Rabjohns is reporting what he is told (albeit probably not accurate) unlike Justin Albers who just flat out makes things up so I can't be to mad. woodenshoemanHoosierfan 1 Quote
