Player and Recruit Retention News/Discussion & Potential Transfers

I'm buying what you're selling. I am not a fan of "position-less" or 3 guard line-ups. No reason to come up with anything fancy.
UNC (spits) just won a NC (spits again) with a basically traditional line-up that plays good, fundamental ball. IU just needs to get back to doing it too. Talented players + fundamentals= lots o wins.

Agree, defined roles with the ability to adapt is what we need. I'm fine with versatility to a certain extent but not the kind that has your only big on the floor playing point.

We have some players that can play multiple positions in different lineups. Morgan playing the three or four. RoJo or JBJ playing the three in smaller lineups. DD and TB playing together for short stretches.

What about Curtis Jones? I think he would be in line for some minutes. Don't see him being the 11th man on this team.

I see him as the 10th or 11th man on this team. He's not a point so JN/Green play before him. RoJo and JBJ are clearly ahead of him. He's the 5th best guard we have. If we go small and play a three guard lineup he'll probably get more minutes. I don't see him playing in front of Hartman, Morgan, or Smith on the wing.

If he sticks around he could play huge minutes as a junior with Newkirk, RoJo, and JBJ gone.

So to update, Miller is meeting with all 3 LOI commits this week.

There has at least been some positive indication that Newkirk, Johnson, Hartman, Morgan, McSwain & Davis are back. Nothing said, but assumed: Green, Jones, Gelon & Priller too.

Possible NBA/Pro: OG, JBJ & Bryant

Is that right?

No way! Justin Smith is far and away the best prospect for me.
MUCH better athlete. Much better high school program and competition level. Much better defensive potential.

Yes way. I think Moore's ceiling is much high than Smith's and he is the better overall prospect. We've had plenty of "much better athletes" so that doesn't mean much to me, I want a guy that I think the sky is the limit with and I don't see that in Smith. High School program and competition level doesn't matter to me either, if you can play you can play regardless of who or where you're playing against. Just because you play at a "powerhouse" high school doesn't automatically mean you're going to be a great college player. I think Smith will be a solid rotational player, but Moore has the potential in my opinion to be a solid B1G starter.
