TOM CREAN FIRED

Recommended Posts

Number 1 but not the only thing. The best teams in the NBA right now have the best players and players are making financial sacrifices to play on great teams.

First a superstar has to hit free agency, then you have to sign them and surround them with other quality talent. It's not as easy as hey come play for Brad Stevens in Boston
Unless you think Boston will land Durant next summer, there won't be a superstar on the Celtics for awhile. They will have a lot of cap spce but the Lakers, Sixers, and Mavricks will all have more. Boston isn't a destination people want to live, when Southern California is calling. Let's also not forget Durants hometown team, Washington Wizards, will have a lot of $$ to spend next summer as well.

I really believe once Crean is fired, Stevens will listen to an offer from IU. IU will have to ring their "A" game though. Do that and I think we get out guy. Especially when there is a Celtic legend who can man their bench. They don't have to match an IU offer for Stevens.

How many still star players have taken a pay cut to join a team. And of those how many have done it to join a team without a star

It takes one well placed trade to set the whole plan in motion. Hey, you're the one saying this isn't going to happen tomorrow which is why he will get restless and leave. (Or something like that) I'm also saying it won't happen tomorrow, but he's going to wait and see what happens and not just skip town because a bunch of IU fans want him. That's mighty wishful thinking. My opinion: he hangs around in Boston whether Crean gets canned or not. Sure, he might listen to an offer, but he stays.

It's also not as easy hey come coach IU basketball in Bloomington.

Well....the Heat when they were super good are a decent example. And Tim Duncan just did it to play with Aldridge.

Idk what your second question means because I never said that.

Because of Florida taxes James and Bosh didn't take a pay cut. And the Heat already had a star. How are the celtics to do this without a star

But see, the thing is.....I never said they could without a star. You just kinda made that part up. When you start arguing something I never said, things tend to get confusing so this is where I will bow out of the discussion.

You said people would go to the celtics? Them not having a star is why they won't.

Celtics are playing great ball right now. And guess what, its THE CELTICS. Celtics and Lakers will always find a way to be at the top. Boston doesn't have much to build around besides Smart and Thomas.. They will have to hit a couple home runs in free agency to land a center. Other than that, i don't see the Celtics winning the East anytime soon while Lebron and PG dominate the east.

IU will have to sale him on Bloomington. Brad already knows it's IU and the Tradition.. but i think if he were to come back, it would be for his family not for basketball. That's just my two cents.

While we're on the conversation of superstars winning in the NBA, has anyone noticed what has been happening to college basketball? There's a reason Duke and Kentucky are winning so much.

Because all their recruits are from Indiana!

Fire Crean.
