Popular Post Yogi's Picnic Basket Posted March 15, 2017 Popular Post Posted March 15, 2017 My uncle works for Tom Spiece directly and even though the dude is going bankrupt he still donates a lot. He said that he had a meeting scheduled with him today but that he called and cancelled and said IU business as his reason. Sounds like a booster meeting is going down. The old store on coliseum was my go to place for kicks as a kid. You are absolutely right. Spiece Fieldhouse was the reason I fell in love w basketball. Tom always gave my uncle tickets to any event there. He still gives the select few employees through his stores a lot even while bankrupt. My uncle became a season ticket holder directly from Tom. He is a stand up guy. I hated his stores closing though. He always had cool memorabilia. He probably knows whats going on and I have been blowing my uncle up for days now but Tom isnt gonna say anything to anyone. He is one of the few RMK loyalist that gave Crean a real shot. Sounds like he is on board with him leaving though. I know he used to donate a few hundred thousand a year until his stores closed. Nor sure what all he has out there still or in the Indy area.Sent from my LGLS676 using BtownBanners mobile app FortWayneHoosier, CR3AMnCR1MS0N and Chris Nieman 3 Quote

Everyone was offered tickets in 08-09 on waiting list and the waiting list was exhausted at that point. I as well as family bought in 2010-2011 with no waiting list. It returned in 12-13 when IU was number 1 and has remained with at least a small no. of people on it since. Quote

Now, I don't follow college football closely, but he's had a couple of opportunities with the football team and hasn't come close to that home run hire. This may be because it's just no feasible with our history/tradition of suckage, but that shouldn't be the case in basketball. For the record, I'm very nervous now about what caliber of coach FG might hire. IU basketball should be much more capable of hitting the home run than IU football. One is a historical blue blood with every resource needed located in the heart of one of the country's most fertile recruiting grounds (thanks again, Tom!), the other is a historical doormat. My issue with Allen being hired isn't that he got the job, it's that Glass didn't even conduct a coaching search before hiring a guy with 5 total years coaching and none as a HC anywhere. I liked how the defenses improved with Allen, just don't think he's ready to be a head coach. Quote

He made some money selling to Napa Auto Parts though. Place was HUGE. Nice to see the Fieldhouse is still going. Every Indiana kid should play there once at least.
