FWIW.

The janitor and I spent a whole season with PMs. It was so cool. He stopped that 1.5 seasons ago and has been quiet. He broke so many things to me. He would later break almost all those things to the board in general.

He was very confident IU was "looking" at options 2 seasons ago. I don't recall any promises but the "Alabama" rumors and Brad Stevens rumors were partly discussed by BB4IU. He made it sound like IU was willing to pay big money.

He seems more sure and more public this time around for certain. But he was thinking it could have happened 2 years ago as well.

I asked 708 if he knew whether we had some talks 2 years ago and he did it think we had. I could not remember who shared this last time but your post reminded me - the Janitor.

I know one of the low level assistant basketball coaches that worked for IU during that time.  He thought Crean was going to Alabama.  Mentioned Crean had talked to Saban about Alabama as they had mutual contacts from their time as Mich St.

So if these talks have been going on for some time, I wonder how much of it is why our team has struggled so much during the back half or 2/3s of the season? No matter how good their intentions are/were, it has to effect everyone's spirit even if they are still putting it to the time in the gym. I'm sure the boys would take a grenade for coach.

I'd say it has had zero effect on our season. More so I'd say our season has had more of an impact on those talks happening.

I would argue that there's been very little, if any, effect on this year's struggles as most of this year's problems, i.e., TO's and poor defense are repetitive problems.

Also, with but few exceptions under CTC our team has historically faltered greatly towards the end of the regular season and limped into the BTT and we now have an 11-19 record in the BTT.  A statistic further reinforced by the fact we have been bounced out of the event nine times by a team seeded worse.  In those nine games, Indiana's average seed is 3.4 and the average seed of who beat them is 7.1!

Well unfortunately twitter much like this board wasn't around when Sampson and Crean were hired. If it were, Sampson probably doesn't get fired at the time. The reason people put trust in the guy is due to the things he actually did call. You don't have to believe him, but why keep trolling everyone that does? They have been here longer than a couple of months to actually know what he has brought so far. Plus, the most vocal "insiders" have been at 247.
