Anyone who thinks that just because there is no news of import in any given week bears in anyway on whether CTC stays is being a little impatient IMO.

I think most of us are very, very impatient right about now

R-E-L-A-X man. Crean is as good as gone. It's just not gonna happen until the end of the season. And that should be how it goes

Why?  Id rather see Hartman out there as a player coach than another Crean game. In fact can we do that.

Because one, I don't like mid-season coaching changes. And two, Crean should have to live through this nightmare. It's mostly his fault

If Crean stays past this season I'll still be an IU fan, but I'll care a whole lot less. Keeping him would show that Glass isn't serious about IU being a top-tier basketball program, imo, and I'll have to adjust my expectations accordingly.

I honestly think the only way Tom is back is if the few we are interested in replacing him aren't available at this time or this yr.  I can see Glass playing it safe with who he has for another year to give plenty of time to sway a true candidate here.

No this had to be dealt with now. Either fire him or extend him. You can't bring in back as a lame duck coach. In fact I doubt he would even come back without his extension.

Not sure I agree with that.  The way he threw his players under the bus and made excuses, followed by saying he's not deflecting blame, he should've been fired then.

Honestly, if he's recruiting for his next job in the local area I'm cool with that. It probably means he's away from the team so they might have a chance in their next game...

He's thrown his players under the bus and deflected blame his entire tenure at IU. It's the same old song and dance. He won't be gone till after the season

That's what is scary though.  Assuming all the rumors are true, Fred Glass is putting whether or not Crean returns in the hands of others...and 85% confidence of that happening isn't good enough in my book.  Plus, the fact that Crean and his staff are out recruiting people seems to lead one to believe that he thinks there is a significant chance he will be here next year.  Anyway, thanks for sharing the info.  

 

Anyone thinking Crean out recruiting means he is back is crazy. Plain and simple. He plans on coaching whether at IU or somewhere else. He is still gonna build relationships regardless of where he is.

In the recent past Crean said if there's one thing he's learned in 9 years it's that everything falls on him.  He didn't already know that?  That might be the only thing he's learned in 9 years here, which is one more than he learned from Izzo.

Granted he said that after essentially saying "it's not my fault and here's excuses x through z, but I'm not deflecting blame" so I'm not sure he's even learned that.
