I thought this was kinda interesting:

A Greg Doyle article dated March 19, 2015 explaining why Indiana fans are dumber than a stump to believe that Billy Donovan would be interested in being the coach of the Hoosiers. The reason why? Now, in all fairness, the option of leaving UF for the pros was not contemplated in this piece, but the primary reason cited by Doyle was because supposedly Donovan was a University of Florida lifer that would not ever consider leaving Gainesville. 39 days later, Donovan...you guessed; moved on from Gainesville.

A direct passage from that article is below...Hawhumpfh!

Billy Donovan to Indiana? Because he doesn't want to be at a football school, presumably.

Never mind that he turned down Kentucky, twice, to stay at that football school, both times when the UF football team was near the top of the world. In recent years UF football has slid to irrelevance. And now's the time Donovan wants to leave?

Come on.

People spreading that rumor don't understand how invested Donovan is in Gainesville, not just in the university community but also in the high school community. Donovan is a devout Catholic, and his family was instrumental in the fundraising for St. Francis Catholic High, which opened in Gainesville in 2004. The two oldest Donovan children went to St. Francis. The third, Bryan, is a junior at St. Francis. The fourth, Connor, will enter the school next year.

Donovan's leaving for Indiana? He's not leaving for Indiana.

He is the reason I don't read the star anymore.

Bryant is a late first rounder (likely).  JBJ will be in D League or Europe likely.  The one who might come back is OG b/c of his injury and his underwhelming (IMO) play prior thereto.  I hope Hartman is given an opportunity to come back though the tea leaves suggest he's being forced out ala Matt Roth (which was ridiculous).

If we're lucky enough to get a new coach and Hartman wants to come back, I'm confident there will be a roster spot for him and plenty of playing time available.  And with some likely transfers out and expected pro departures , surely even CTC isn't dumb enough to look a gift horse in the mouth in terms of an experienced player if CTC should, god forbid, still be our coach next season.

Crean's system is flawed . For dribble-drive offense to work you need Elite athletes. The system we run like the three-man Weave, is basically starting our offense with penetration by driving one on one . We do not have Fox and Monk on our team to blow by everyone. So basically we are forcing everything and when you force things, you turn it over.  So with the right players healthy we can win by out scoring the other team, that is if our shots are falling (usually at home).  If they are not we lose because our defense is so bad. I just don't see this as a recipe for success at the college level.

TBH Crean is saying plenty that all of this is on him. No one has been cherry picking those quotes though.

Still needs to go, just saying I think people are crucifying him for calling out players and completely deflecting blame.

What gets me is Crean acts like these are new developments. This has been going on all season (actually, several seasons). Even when we beat Kansas, we were putting the welcome mat out in the lane.

Blame the players all you want, but if the coach accepts mediocrity, the players are more than willing to accept it. If the coach allows players to lose their man and just pick up the closest guy, the players think it is the norm. If he thinks these habits have developed over the last few games, he simply hasn't been paying attention.

Name one time when Crean has sat a player down for this kind of play. It has been consistent throughout the year and he has been unwilling to motivate with the bench. What motivation do the players have to change?

As long as he states the problem but doesn't come up with solutions, he should definitely be held accountable. It is his job to find solutions. Period.

Yep, but nothing but status quo. Both are charter members of the Mediocrity Admiration Society.

Dakich is putting it ALL on the players... he said "do it his (Crean's) way, you win big. do it your (the player's) way, you lose". What a load of crap. Sure it's partly on the players, but who's starting them, leaving them in the game, not "coaching" them. It's on Crean

Odd that Dakich is putting it on the players since these are the players Crean recruited and offered.  You just can't put it on players here IMO.

Some major news regarding Billy D. Anthony Davis's agent has told people that him and Westbrook plan on going to LA together in a year or two. If this is true Billy D will not want to take part in a rebuild after being so close to winning a title.

I read the article. While they share the same agent, the article is pretty thinly stretched out speculation.

What is more relevant to me is that Westbrook is an LA guy through and through and probably isn't all that shot in the ass about many more years in OKC.

Russ can opt out after next year right?

Crean's comments in his post game presser have made me pissed. This has to end and end quickly.

It's cool for him to say that it falls on him but he's just as immature as his players. He's saying "it's my fault but..."

It's his players, it's his system and he's not getting it done. His "everyone is a leader" system doesn't work. Name one system in America that runs on "everyone is a leader." Everything that is halfway successful runs on a hierarchy of leadership.

He fails at keeping enough players around to have upperclassmen lead. Why is that?! Why do so few players stay at Indiana long enough to lead the younger players? I have my theory and I'm not shocked players would leave.

He doesn't want to name captains but he wants to call out players?! What kind of immature crap is that?! Why can't he bench players who aren't following his instructions? This isn't a new development with his teams either. At some point it needs to fall on Crean. That time is now and he needs to seek employment at a school not named Indiana.

I don't want it to happen and see college kids just lay down and quit.... But maybe it sends a message to glass and they all can pull a "usa national soccer team" and basically get coach canned. Now I don't agree with it but that's basically what happened. Lost the locker room and lost his job Juergen did.

FWIW. I've seen it mentioned in several separate places. Apparently DeRon Davis could be a transfer candidate. Idk. This presumably depends on what happens with Crean. I can't imagine someone as skilled as DeRon willing to "waste" a year.

He's being grossly misused and under-utlized (shocker).... I could see him leaving if CTC is back.
