Agree. Changes when these schools have competitive teams and some hype around the program. This penn state team (and NW for that matter) have some momentum building. Regardless, this IU team is capable of losing to IPFW with an insanely pro IU crowd. Not saying we shouldn't be favored to win at PSU, but I personally don't think we win the game. I hope I'm wrong.

For sure it only helps the conference when schools like penn st and northwestern can gain momentum. I actually think the opposite going into this game. Last year I didn't think penn st would make it a game and they ended up winning. This year penn st has better talent and coming into this game with wins against mich st and Minnesota so of course this will be the game where iu will win by double digits. Lol. Road win against rpi top 60 team will look good. Fwiw every regular season game left in the B1G will be against an rpi top 100 team ( besides Iowa 117). Plenty of opportunities to build the resume. Iu resume is so bizarre. 3 top 50 wins( 2 of those are top 11), 2 losses to top 7 teams and 3 other losses to top 50 teams and 1 loss to rpi 122. 0 wins against rpi 51-100, 1 win against 101-150 team. 8 wins against +200 teams.

I just hate the fact that even if IU goes as far to win the NCAAT this year, seasons like this and this style of play will be the norm from here on out regardless as long as Crean is the coach. This isn't even remotely enjoyable to watch. At least I could get behind the Zeller teams. And I don't mean that as a fairweather fan. I had season tickets as a student for Crean's first three seasons and attended 95% of the games. The 6-25 team was more enjoyable to watch than this team. Everything has been said already as to why this is specifically bad basketball, but beyond that the program is just simply stale.

Anyone ever go back to 247 just to read comments? HTD/Joani Crean still is posting there apparently.

Not really no, and HTD is a big part of why.  HTD once posted that they thought Crean was a better coach than Stevens....not word yet on the results of the drug test.

Nah, but reading some of the comments and their glowing assessment of Crean there can't possibly be many people who it could be. Honestly wouldn't be surprised if it was someone who gets paid to post nothing but pro-Crean comments on the bigger IU sites.

They were over the top, no doubt. I remember having several PMs with them trying to help them with something. Can't remember what it was now but came away feeling as if it was someone my grandparents age who barely used a computer.

Care to explain who HTD was? I hated 247. Nothing was the same since Scout closed our shop down.

Some guy who was there before HSN migrated to 247. Dude took/takes being all rainbows and sunshine about the current state of IU programs/just the school in general to a whole other level.

Wasn't he big on having seniors too. Any team that won a game and had a few seniors he would publish their results. Even if it was MSU beating Grand Canyon U.

Yep.  Also big on saying this or that coach should be fired because their team lost a game ignoring that the reasons people want Crean fired go beyond that.

There's a thread started by him with a list of coaches that should be fired because their team has losses, a list that includes Izzo.  Nevermind that Izzo makes tourney runs about as often as Crean makes a decision that makes no sense or stupid substitution.
