During the Butler game I texted a friend asking if we could trade Crean for Holtman and Lewis.

It really goes back to the big time boosters and administration. There won't be a change until they're unhappy. Crean and the basketball team are bringing in large amounts of money and the team stopped embarrassing the uni with arrests and incidents.

As passionate and knowledgeable fans we can see it's not working. A change needs to be made because Crean has a ceiling that isn't good enough for what IU should be. He's too erratic and his teams play this way. It's sad it's come to this when justification was there to make a change years ago.

Fine, a 3 program trade.  I'd just like to see this team with Holtman and Lewis coaching them. 


I wouldn't mind the local fourth grade coach taking over as long as he gets the team to play smart and together. It's not a personnel issue it's a scheme and steady coach. Crean has more and wilder swings than posters on here.

I agree with you here, but then again Glass wouldn't fire Crean if he burned down an orphanage in Christmas Eve.

Should he be here?  No, he should've already been fired.

Probably true. I'm still holding on to hope that Glass realizes in the next year or two that Crean cant get us to the next level and makes a move. I think there is a 5-10 % chance of this happening.

I'm back on this train until our players are actually taught how to defend a frickin basic pick and roll. Seriously, go back and look how many open looks they got off of a screen at the top of the key. We had 2 players going after the ball handler, leaving 3s wide open. As others have said, this isn't a personnel issue. It's 100% coaching and it makes me irate that fixable mistakes are there year in and year out. We are the definition of inconsistent. I don't even care about big wins anymore, they'll inevitably get followed by a terrible loss to a team that just plays smarter. Rinse and repeat. Hello apathy, my old friend.

I think the majority on the Fire Tom Crean train know this. It's nice to have a thread to speak our frustrations with coach though. 

 

As of right now, it's safe to say his seat is warming up real quick, 2014-2015 QUICK.

I agree. The seat will get scalding hot quicker because many of us who started to feel good will turn quickly if we continue to stumble.

I think the majority on the Fire Tom Crean train know this. It's nice to have a thread to speak our frustrations with coach though. 

 

As of right now, it's safe to say his seat is warming up real quick, 2014-2015 QUICK. 


His seat may be heating up with the fanbase, but it's nice and cozy with the administration. I agree it's nice to be able to come to a place to voice frustration. Just don't let yourselves get worked into a frenzy bc the odds of him being gone within the next 3 years is as close to zilch as they can get. It would take Kevin Wilson-esque type of scenario to get him out sooner.

The administration made it abundantly clear, 2 seasons ago, that they won't be forced by the fans into any decision they don't want to make. We have no voice with this administration. Again, 2 seasons ago made this clear.

I don't think we disagree.  I think we're saying the same thing a different way.    That said, the players have talent.  But I don't think they're a smart group.  They're certainly not a fundamentally sound group.   We had 19 turnovers.  At home.  Against Nebraska.   Lazy.  Stupid.  Careless.    And what has Crean done in 9 years to cure the same problem that's existed since he got here?  Nothing.  There's no accountability and there's clearly no teaching that turnovers are not okay, and bad shots are not okay.    It's play as fast as you can and chuck it when you're open.  When teams allow that and you make shots?  You look great.  But....Butler and Wisconsin take it away every year and they beat us every year.  Nebraska did a good job taking it away tonight, and we forced things, missed shots, and had turnovers for touchdowns, losing to a very mediocre 6-6 basketball team we shouldn't lose to in 100 tries.  When 40% of your shots against a bad team are 3 pointers, something's wrong.
