Walking Boot of Doom Posted December 3, 2015 Posted December 3, 2015 Surprised was the wrong word to use my bad. I meant I am not sure why anyone would think this fanbase would be any different Because this fanbase claims to be different. It claims to be the benchmark of passion, class, and basketball knowledge. We love to hold the program and everyone in it to the highest standard; better hold ourselves to that standard as well. I 100% believe in being classy and treating people with respect, but that begs the question, how do the fans voice displeasure? Letters to Glass? Stop watching my most beloved sports team? These message boards turn into the kind of places people can discuss frustrations with the program. Twitter and Facebook is the modernized version of these forums but it's a free for all with people of all Ilk. We are the unique blue blood not living up to our potential so our fanbase will be louder. I think it's great so many are so passionate. The ones I don't get are the ones that say "banner or bust". That's unfair expectations. Like others have said, we just need to be perennial B1G contenders and the fanbase will quiet IMO. LIHoosier and MikeRoberts 2 Quote

We're a know it all fanbase who doesn't trust those in power to do their job. I can't count the number of times someone has said the players, coaches, AD, President, or all of the above should hit the road because they don't know what they're doing. Quote

I'm not saying I'm happy with the results, but you can't deny what I'm saying isn't accurate. Quote

Maybe the administration wants the fans to settle for mediocrity. I'm glad we aren't and we are voicing displeasure. I don't think we have to spew the same things over and over for everyone to know where we are. I also don't get why that makes someone care more? I do not like where this team is headed. I do think Crean should go. I will be in B'town for multiple games because I love this University. I have the utmost confidence there is much more dialogue going on behind the scenes than we can imagine. That's a large part of Glass' job beyond graduating kids. Andrew_114 and HoosierReb01 2 Quote

I don't think we are that, as we have dedicated the funds. We aren't getting good return on investment, but that's another discussion we've had before. I don't go around spewing anything. This all started with me defending attacks on our fanbase. We are a great, proud fanbase that invests much time and money into the university and program. I am not a fan of how we act to voice our displeasure. I think there are more mature ways to handle it. But to each their own outside of the board.
