I think the point being 2 of 3 (Hayes and Kaminski) improved into NBA talents but stuck around all four years. Dekker was a McD's AA if I remember correctly.

I think there has to be a combination of experienced upperclassmen with talent and young talent that has the ability to leave early. The most important factors is getting players whose talents complement each other and are willing to sacrifice for the team wins.

I like seeing IU players in the NBA but would prefer success of the program first and foremost.

1.) Maybe I'm missing the gist of your statement. You used OG's injury as an example of the downside of being a "NBA factory". And I said that's not a good point because he was not a one and done prospect when he was recruited.

2.) This Wisconsin point still bothers me. Wisconsin, for all of their consistency under Bo Ryan, made two Final Fours in 14 years. For all of his in game prowess and respected coaching ability, those two Final Fours were achieved with NBA talent in Frank Kaminsky and Nigel Hayes. So what is it exactly that you want to be?

2) In the conversation every year instead of a roller coaster.  Indiana can and will always attract better overall talent than Wisconsin will have.  They made two final fours and never finished below 4th without McD's all Americans or really many national recruits at all.   I would expect better results at Indiana if we were in the same position Wisconsin is in the Big Ten every year.

So, why is OG going to and walking around all the games with no crutches or brace or anything?

I'm not doubting the injury in the slightest but what gives?

I've torn both acl's and walked without crutches no problem. Obviously we don't know for sure it's an acl but the point being that you can tear up your knee and still walk on it.

The muscles can easily stabilize your knee for walking. Quick cuts, stopping, starting, jumping etc not so much. Even over time the muscles will accommodate to allow you to do more. I didn't have my right knee repaired and it holds up pretty well. I wouldn't play bball against adults but I don't have any problem against my 13 yo. Early on I couldn't have done that, hell I could barely shoot a jump shot without it wanting to shift, but now it's no issue.

When I tore my left one it hurt like a b.... and swelled up like mad. When I tore my right one I barely felt anything but knew something wasn't right. I went back to Ortho and he confirmed the tear.

So I'm not surprised he's not on crutches or even walking with a limp for that matter.

Everyone calm down. Unless he transfers, he isn't going anywhere. Like I've said all year, still ALOT of work for the young man

He should and more than likely will go pro. What's the point of sticking around?

We are already over signed by three, still won't have a true PG next year, and we don't have much talent coming in. Not to mention, our offense won't change at all. It hasn't changed at all. We will probably see Davis hanging around the perimeter instead of Bryant. Crean's style of play is not suited for OG.

He's still a top 15 pick according to the leading experts and scouts. I mean look at Nerlens Noel. Got drafted after tearing an ACL, he's about to get paid 25million a year this summer. If I have the 10th pick or so, I'm taking OG. This years draft class is deep with skill, but not deep potential wise if that makes any sense.
