From my perspective from reading the tweet, this is really not an incident or an issue....

Yea I don't particularly like the thought of our guys spending their down time in a bar during the season, but he is of age and maybe there was a reason he was in the bar (celebrating something with friends etc).... Unless I hear he was driving or doing something more than just being in a bar I don't see the issue here. This is not the same as prior years with Fake IDs and Drinking & Driving situations.... this is a college kid of age hanging out in a bar (as far as I know of the details).

Well if this is true, things can start to go downhill pretty quickly if we get beat NYE by Louisville.

A loss to Butler, drinking incident, then a loss to Louisville in just a few weeks' time could result in some unsettling feelings around the program.  Hope not though.

However, I just want to add that this team seems nothing like the 2013-2014 disaster though.

Made a bet with one of my co-workers (U of L fan) that IU gets beat by 12. He says no way! He took my bet, so I have $100 bill on the line.

I think IU rights the ship that game and wins by 7-10. As long as we're not playing an in-state school with less than 10k enrollment I think we're good!

So far, pure speculation as to WHAT happened. Here's what's been leaked out so far:

• Freddie
• Involving alcohol
• Freddie is not an underage drinker
• Happened at Brothers
• Janitor in the gym basically infers it was 'not good'

If anyone can add any actual information to that, please do. Otherwise, there is not enough to form an opinion yet.

Wrong wrong and wrong. Again glass will not fire crean plain and simple. As long as he wins enough games in the regular season he is more than happy. The only way crean leaves is on his own period.

So to sum this thread up in a few words: Freddie McSwain is not an underage drinker, but was potentially spotted drinking and something "not good" may or may not have happened as reported by a janitor....

Welll, basically correct, although JanitorInTheGym is the handle for an IUBB insider who is connected with the program, and more than willing to anonymously call out indiscretions when they occur.

It it was really so bad wouldnt he be suspended or kicked of the team by now. There is nothing to see here except a crazy rumor from an unknown janitor who may or may not exist.

So we do know he's not underage, so that's good. Unlikely that he was arrested or that would already be known, so that is good too. If he broke team rules then punish him. If it was severe enough, remove him. Seems pretty simple to me.

For me, that officially means that Freddie is fine, that this poster likely is not by accident, and is CTC's way of telling Freddie that he is still fully supported and part of the family,  and that if anything was amiss, it was handled internally.
