They've looked bad. Will they not make the dance? Fat chance. They'll be ready, and in the hunt in the Big 10. Wheels came off last night, but IU will be just fine. Quote

WayneFleekHoosier Posted November 23, 2016 Posted November 23, 2016 The "just fine" argument is bonkers to me. Compared to what? This year will still be "just fine" but it could have been fantastic.Next year? "Just fine"? What does that even mean.? We won't lose to the IPFWs of the world? We might be middle of pack? pappy1865 Posted November 23, 2016 Posted November 23, 2016 What Stu said. It's a loss. A bad one, yes, but it's one. As long as it doesn't snowball into a trainwreck of a season, I'm not worried. Quote
IUsince1980 Posted November 23, 2016 Posted November 23, 2016 Did we seriously only score 5 miserable points in last 10 mins including OT????Sent from my SPH-L720T using BtownBanners mobile app MikeRoberts and southsidehoosier 2 Quote
Alford Bailey Posted November 23, 2016 Posted November 23, 2016 Still say this is Creans best team. Should be a wake up call. Cant just go through the motions. Learning experience for the freshmen. I predict by mid season we see more Green and Cujo and less Newkirk. Gotta have a guy who can create and penetrate on the floor. triple, mdn82, pappy1865 and 4 others 7 Quote

Bowhunter Posted November 23, 2016 Posted November 23, 2016 I didn't get to see the end of the game but it sounds like it was much like the first half that I did see. Could Cujo or Green run the point? I'm not big on Newkirk either. It also hurts not having a senior like Hartman in these situations. No way we lose that game with his leadership if healthy. Crean is gonna bring the freshmen along slowly but yea I see more Green and Cujo. JBJ cant handle the ball very well when pressured. Quote

Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app All depends on the next 2 games. Does this team re-group and play a solid game against Miss. Valley St. and then does it carry that effort into the UNC game or do we endure another UNC ass whuppin'? To me, what we see in these next 2 games will dictate how this season is going to go. Quote

Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners I thought we were good enough to not play well and win these games. Obviously not. Got some issues. Need to figure out our playmaker to get through droughts. Still very bullish on this team. Get the bonehead game out of the way early. I dont think this snowballs. pappy1865 and GloryDays 2 Quote
SlamaJamaSisley Posted November 23, 2016 Posted November 23, 2016 Bad loss ... but by the end of the season I don't think this will look AS bad. IUFW is a solid team IMO. No excuses, played uninspired, yada yada yada ... I agree. So does this loss feel as bad a the loss to Duke last year? I seem to recall last year turning around. Quote
coonhounds Posted November 23, 2016 Posted November 23, 2016 I want to move south till this crap storm of a embarrassment blows over. Imo we are still a fragile team and defense needs alot of work again.if we can't hit shots or get out and run we look lost. Hope crean can get them back on track 2 good games in a row will make me feel better Sent from my SM-G920V using BtownBanners mobile app Quote

Str8Hoosiers Posted November 23, 2016 Posted November 23, 2016 I felt like the multiple 3 point lines really messed with our shooters, especially in the 1st half.... I know I have heard that Cook Hall has the NBA line as well though.... Just seemed like every 3 (and there were FAR too many of them early) was from beyond the NBA line and it looked as if the guys were coming up short at first then started pushing them too hard to make up for the difference.... We really need to handle the ball better, the turnovers from the last 2 games are way too high and in this game in particular were at very bad times, some of the shots etc could be considered turnovers... Still driving to the lane with nowhere to go and no thought about what to do with the ball... Some players seem very selfish so far, wanting to get "theirs". On the other hand a game that arguably our best (or 1 of our best) players barely played. On the road... Like somebody said we got punched in the mouth and didn't have the heart/strength to counter-punch.... Josh and Jketch 2 Quote
