Thoughts?

Tall.

Haha agreed on that. JBJ's defensive issues would be pretty hidden in that lineup and I think there could be serious match up issues for the opponent. That squad would dominate the boards too. I could see CTC going to it against UNC or Lousville.

Doubt Crean ever goes to that lineup. I do think we could handle smaller lineups with OG and JMo being able to defend smaller guards. I would like to see some lineups with JMo or OG at the three and high low action run when they post a smaller guard or wing.

Slow start and at many times looked like defense lapses from last year reared it's ugly head. BUT, if TB is gonna continue to get on JBJ for his bad defense ..... There is hope! Man TB was reading him the riot act and JBJ was listening. I wouldn't want to upset TB and have him on my case more than once!

Strengths: Shooting---56.3 % for the game and 40.7 % from 3. Outrebounded them 46-24 with 54 points in the paint.

Weaknesses: Defensive lapses.

Heard at least 10 guys played at least 10 minutes

Deron Davis is getting better and better---and Priller ---brought it home!

I think if he keeps turning up the heat on the defensive end of the floor, he'll get more minutes.

How in the world can you call a kid "disappointing" after two games?  He was in JUCO for a reason.    What do you expect from him?   He didn't come here touted as an immediate impact diffference maker.  he came here touted as an athlete who needed polish.   And.....   That's what he is.  He's played exactly two D1 games in his life, and the last couple of seasons, he's played against competition that would lose to UM Lowell by 40.   He hasn't even had the benefit of playing good AAU ball in the summer recently.  He had 5 rebounds and 3 steals in 14 minutes.  He can't shoot, but Crean's offense asks him to take shots he won't make yet.  He plays too fast....that'll change.   Patience, Grasshopper.

Exactly,I see a strong rebounder whos still trying to get his legs under him along with being new to the system.I believe he will prove valuable especially late in the Big grind.I also think Newkirk is a nice player who sees the court and distributes the ball very well.Nice to see passing instead of the air being pounded out of the ball. This team has much more upside then the previous one.

Also Vijay is tearing it up at Saint Francis. JB says Vijay is ridiculously underrated and expects Vijay to play himself into a great transfer opportunity at some point.

Sent from my iPad using BtownBanners

I wondered at the time of his commitment to SF if that wasn't the plan.  Demonstrate a high level of ability and then transfer to a D-1 program and not have to sit out a year.

And you wonder why he's a great shooter? For those of you who have played a little hoops, just look at the shooting form: The head, the feet, the shoulders; it's like an instructional manual:

The release at the top of his jump too. So silky, JBJ. He has the greenest green light known to mankind.
