I'm ready for 2016 IU Football

I'm super pumped! He's an exert from a recent ESPN Insider article that got me excited. http://espn.go.com/college-football/insider/story/_/id/15938469/what-big-ten-coaches-say-conference-given-anonymity

I'm ready for 2016 IU Football

Ready for commits, camps, practices, games, our next bowl trip.... For the rest of you who are ready, what are your projections, freshmen surprises, key match-ups....etc. Lets start it here.

I know this is a "thank you captain obvious" moment, but my main concern is QB. If Lagow steps up and gives us a solid starting QB we can count on we're in a bowl game. If he doesn't prove to be ready, it will be close. Our running game can carry us some, but you at least have to be decent in the air. I think this is the season the defense becomes competent (not a glaring weakness).

Right there with you.We have lots of fruit and nut trees.Right now blueberries are in and the gooseberries are right behind. My son and I are messing around with hybrid perssimons and are doing some grafting.Gardening rivals IU basketball as my one true passion but will always be the bridesmaid.

Much like Yogi last year, Thomas Bryant did not come back merely to improve his draft stock, he came back to accomplish what he came to IU for; to win. We have been clamoring for leaders at IUBB that are not satisfied with their season if it brings any result other than a national championship. Thomas Bryant feels that way...in a big way. His teammates will need to buy in or get out of his way. With leaders like Thomas, they will buy in.

Excited and skeptical. Hoping for best. I fear we just miss a bowl game by a game. Hoping Lagow can put the WR corps to work and that the new D coordinator shows improvement. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners

Appears to clearly be the deepest team of Crean's tenure, right? Could add McSwain to your list, although, like the Freshmen, he's not a known quantity yet.

I thought we had one of these going, but guess not. Anyone else love to garden? My new house has 2 large gardens with numerous container plants. I have approximately 30 fruit trees (apple, pear, peach and cherry), as well as blackberry, raspberry, grapes, and gooseberry bushes. I've recently found some wild asparagus and wild rhubarb growing around. This year, I've got: potatoes, radishes, carrots, asparagus, onions, green onions, kohlrabi, green beans, pole beans, purple beans, 24 tomato plants (all heirloom, 6 different colors, 14 different types), snow peas, snap peas, jalapenos, yummy peppers, bell peppers, romaine, bibb lettuce, corn, zucchini, cucumbers, pickling cucumbers, watermelon, yellow squash, cauliflower, brussels sprouts, spinach, spaghetti squash, artichoke, and all my herbs (basil, dill, cilantro, oregano, and Mexican oregano). I've already gotten enough cherries to have made 2 pies and freeze 8 cups, plus what I got today!

Tonight's choice: Ommegang Three Philosophers, quadruple ale. Good brew for the style, pretty malty for me.. Yeast still in bottle. Not my style overall but would definitely recommend it to those who like a big malty beer. **EDIT- Just noticed it is 9.7%- guess I should not have pounded that on an empty stomach, lol.

Started mine from a seed indoor. They sprout quick and wilt just as quick. May need more water. Thanks. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners

My sprouts are ok but pretty early to tell. They're one of the first transplants I do (never have gotten them to grow from seed). I make sure to use a time release fertilizer like 14-14-14. The plants get pretty tall, and use about 1.5" water weekly. They take forever to develop, which sucks because they take up so much space. They actually taste better after a light frost!

I wouldn't mind seeing OG playing alongside DD at times. I don't expect DD to provide much on offense but him and OG could be a pain defending the opponents front line. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners

I love discussing starting lineups all day, but I'm thrilled about the depth we have. We have possibly Newkirk as a backup, and then Morgan and Davis in a similar situation. That's not to mention CuJo and Green. I maybe missing someone, but I really like this team! Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners

We started our first garden this year. A late start, about 3 weeks ago. A couple 3'x7' boxes into the our sloped yard. Corn, pumpkin, carrots, tomato, green onion, and cucumber. The other has strawberry, habanero, lettuce, jalapeno, cerano pepper, and something else. Its really my wife's pet more than mine but there is something to be said about being able to nurture something from a seed to being edible. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners

Exactly, I don't see why they can't just put all the games on there. If it costed anything, there's no way I'd spend money on it since it's only half the schedule haha.

I just think that if you're going to go 3-guard, then you need to go OG, Morgan or Davis at the 4 spot. It's just too small for my liking to have Hartman at the 4 when you're also playing 3 guards.

Crean would probably rather give up Diet Coke, than to play that lineup. Interesting for sure.. and towering, but too slow for style.

(2017) SG Al Durham Jr. to IU

You can also add Zeisloft and to a certain extent Max Beilfeldt to the list of diamonds in the rough. Remember, Nick Z was a five point a game two-year role player at Illinois State, and after two years at Indiana he's getting a workout with the Dallas Mavericks.
