In our first game of the season, against a team with serious FInal Four potential, we won. Even more impressive, we beat a team who has two excellent and highly experienced PGs, despite our own lack of security at the PG position.

I see plenty of concerns about Newkirk and RoJo. Many have pointed out that Newkirk was playing his first real game in two years. He missed a couple easy layups, but he brings an awesome quickness to our half-court offense. As for RoJo, I pulled this from the Assembly Call email:

  • KU was up by six with 11:10 to play. Bryant hit a free throw, and RoJo went on a personal 7-0 run. IU never trailed by more than two for the rest of the game.

Sure, he was rusty, but he was huge in the second half.

This team could be special.

Apologies, Self was upset about the RoJo catching the ball without establishing himself inbounds. Live it looked like he was complaining about "three fouls missed in a row."



Yea he had legit beef on that one. Just like the shot clock. Still should have gotten T'd up though. He was over the top.

Can we all agree that was the worst officiated game from both sides including every team in a long time? I thought for the most part both teams adapted very well considering the 60+ fouls and multiple missed calls.

I think the Wiscy game last year was worse but both were horrible

Teflon John has that same arrogance where they feel their team is so stacked that as long as they do their thing, it doesn't matter who or what their opposition throws at them.

Then he blamed his players for not knowing the scouting report. WTF
