For all the talk about firing coaches and paying buyouts, AD Scott Woodward hired Jimbo Fisher at A&M and Brian Kelly at LSU and was nationally acclaimed because “he always gets his man.” Who has handed out two worse contracts than that?

It’s really hard to separate from the pack in dickheadedness in a profession full of them, but he is in his own tier.

Idk how good of jobs LSU and Florida really are. Especially Florida. Mullen went 34-15 and got fired. BJ was 34-14 with 3 bowl wins (to the extent that even matters now) and got fired. 9/10 win seasons aren’t enough for those fan bases and the leashes are very short. Of course, Franklin got fired 9 months after making the semifinals, though, so that’s worrisome for candidates too. 

Of course top head coaches are football sickos who don’t think this way, but the Penn State job seems less stressful. There’s like 8 SEC schools that expect to win nattys every year.
