Damn, that game was in Madison? So when he told them Fickell was staying I wonder if he also said, “Yeah, but 90% of y’all are going away.”

Heck anybody worth a damn probably started reaching out for a new home

Wow didn’t they win?  Guess they were planning to do it before the bye

I think they planned on doing it after the season but didn't want Penn State to have their first choice on coaches so they jumped into the pool too

Interesting.

I really enjoy the drama around coach fires/hires, and I’m thrilled we locked up Cig so I can enjoy these searches.

Some more big ones job openings are probably coming.  Florida St. for sure.  Maybe Auburn.  Wisky is a matter of time.  In the next one to two years maybe Michigan, LSU and/or Texas open up — those are tier I jobs.

I'm not as confident as you are in Mike Norvell losing his job.  I could certainly see him back next year

We’ll see how many jobs actually open, but in the worst case it’s what, Penn St, Florida, Wisky, LSU, Arkansas, Auburn and Florida St? For guys saying IU overpaid Cig, what kind of offer would he have gotten in THAT market? Woah

I’m absolutely sure he already got an offer

So, JMU is 6-1 this season with a loss to Louisville.  They beat ODU 63-27.  Think their coach, Bob Chesney gets some looks?  His overall record is 126-51 as a HC at Salve Regina, Assumption, Holy Cross.  He’s 48 and got his first HC position in 2010 with 9 years of position coaching prior to that.  **5 Patriot League championships

Cig isn’t going anywhere but I wouldn’t be surprised if he (his agent) gets a feeler/offer from someone in spite of the new contract/buyout.

With all the openings someone with $$$$ is going to get desperate.

well, since Chesney (allegedly) interviewed with Dolson/IU a year ago, I’d say he’s the real deal

His overall record at JMU is 15-5
