HoosierAloha Posted March 20, 2016 Posted March 20, 2016 I honestly thought we'd struggle against UKs bigs but was impressed with TB and Max. If they play well again, we might be Elite 8 worthy puke's front line was really not that good. Skal has been mostly a massive disappointment for a top 5 recruit. Poythress (sp?) was their only real big you could toss it to and expect to get a bucket. UNC has a lot better front line than puke but puke had a better back court. GloryDays and theriverpilot 2
HoosierAloha Posted March 20, 2016 Posted March 20, 2016 Wally just said he believes in this IU team but need to force UNC to go small to matchup with Thomas Bryant and four guards around him. Do we even have 4 guards left we could play around TB at the same time? Bryant, Yogi, Zeisloft, Neigo, and RoJo? haha Maybe he meant forwards playing out on the perimeter?

rebelhoosier848891 Posted March 20, 2016 Posted March 20, 2016 This is going to be a tough one but I for one am not worried about it--- yet. Isn't it great to be playing the likes of UK and Carolina again. It's OK to start breaking this game down but we have earned some bragging rights with our nasty neighbors to the south and I am going to savor this win for a few days before getting worked up over Carolina. I am sure the BBall staff is already watching film and we may see a similar plan to how we played Purdue or UK--invert and make the bigs play on the perimeter to guard Max and TB from 3. It's great to survive and advance! And--we're all going to have sweet dreams tonight. Goodnight Hoosier Nation! Go IU! pappy1865, Str8Hoosiers, Jdiehr and 2 others 5

Popular Post TrueHoosier62 Posted March 20, 2016 Popular Post Posted March 20, 2016 Beat Carolina, and I'll renounce every bad thing I've ever said about Crean. Having just watched the Tarheels roll Providence, it'll be a tall order though. Unlike Kentucky, NC's big men can actually ball, and are extremely active around the rim. They employed a very effective zone trap just after mid-court to force Providence in to bad passes, turnovers and ill-timed shots. Eventually, they just wore down the Friars and pulled away. I know that some would rather we'd have played Providence, but not me. In order to be great again, we have to play and beat teams like Duke, Kentucky, Kansas and yes, North Carolina. That will have a far greater impact on recruiting than saying, "Yes, we made it to the elite eight by beating Providence" at some kid's home. We'd better bring our "A" game for sure, meaning "good" Troy needs to show up and "bad" Troy needs to stay far away. Our guards should have open looks when/if NC goes in to their trap, but they'll have to launch it quickly because the NC guards and forwards get back into position awfully fast. We'll also need to avoid picking up the dribble. Hoosierboy1980, ccgeneral, Napleshoosier and 8 others 11
HoosierRob Posted March 20, 2016 Posted March 20, 2016 Carolinas bigs are good, but I also seen providence miss a lot of open 3's. Should be good. Hoosierboy1980 1

Popular Post JaybobHoosier Posted March 20, 2016 Popular Post Posted March 20, 2016 Yogi has not had one of those special shooting nights in a while now. It's time. Every year in the tournament, a team gets carried far in the tournament by their PG. I think Yogi is about to do this. Uspshoosier Posted March 20, 2016 Posted March 20, 2016 UNI beat NC this year. North Carolina was up 16 in 2nd half before n Iowa went on a 29-8 run. Washburn had 22 theriverpilot 1
Popular Post Naturalhoosier Posted March 20, 2016 Popular Post Posted March 20, 2016 IU plays their best ball as the underdog. The media/critics/talking heads/etc will continue to pick against Indiana. If they continue playing solid TEAM ball, then there isn't a team in this bracket that will stop them.
