AKHoosier Posted November 2, 2017 Posted November 2, 2017 Fun fact: Nashville, TN is only 4 hours away from Bloomington. The same time it takes to get from South Bend to Bloomington. Iugradman 1 Quote
woodenshoemanHoosierfan Posted November 2, 2017 Posted November 2, 2017 I understand wanting family close now but I sure didn't when I was 18 lol. I could've saved a looot of money and gotten the same degree by staying home and going to IUPUI but I couldn't wait to get out on my own. I understand that, but that doesn't mean Darius is like that. I have 2 sons. One wanted to stay close to home and drive to ROY. The other couldn't wait to get away. Not every thinks the same.I know people that wanted to serve one AD, but wanted to still be close to home They joined the Guard Some wanted to go Active to get away for awhile. woodenshoemanHoosierfan Posted November 2, 2017 Posted November 2, 2017 I've seen my brother three times in the last 3 1/2 years while he is serving his country in the armed forces. I guess I don't get all weepy being away from family.BTW, what branch? Hopefully Army! Sent from my SM-G930V using BtownBanners mobile app Uspshoosier 1 Quote
woodenshoemanHoosierfan Posted November 2, 2017 Posted November 2, 2017 Navy. My father was a Marine. Both grandfathers served in the Army.I won't hold that against him. Lol. Thank him for his service and glad he is part of the brotherhood. My dad couldn't serve, but lots of Marines and Army in the family including my son and myself.Sent from my SM-G930V using BtownBanners mobile app Iugradman, HoosierAloha and IUBBFan1970 3 Quote

Nick_Bragg13 Posted November 2, 2017 Posted November 2, 2017 Lol you guys going at DG for wanting to play close to home are ridiculous. Some kids wanna play with family and friends cheering them on everyday. Imagine committing to Vandy and having all those fans follow him around his senior season cheering him on like crazy (a lot like how we would with Romeo) shut up and keep ur posts to ur self if your gonna attack or discourage the kid cause he wants to play near his current hometown and help change the direction a his hometown program. Obviously I’d love to see him in an Indiana uniform, but some of the things y’all are saying are ignorant af Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners Jeff_Boy_Ardee, CR3AMnCR1MS0N and woodenshoemanHoosierfan 3 Quote

He will get much more love going to IU. Well there's no denying this. Vandy was 45th in the country in attendance last year with an average of around 9,600. That's barely enough to fill up New Castle Fieldhouse. The SEC Championship game drew 20,000 last year, which is 2,000 less than the lowest recorded attendance for the Indiana State High School Championships. Thats the thought" Email from someone not around Tenn but does this for a living. Take it for what it's worth, but he's kept me informed over the yearsGeez. While i hope this isnt the case, it won't surprise me one it. The IU brand just isn't as appealing as it once was.Sent from my SPH-L720T using BtownBanners mobile app Quote

Just conjecture, but I'd be willing to bet there wouldn't be much difference if we went back to single class basketball. Still, last year's 4A game had an attendance of 14,000+ Edited November 2, 2017 by Bigred3588 Quote

Popular Post Capt. Crimson Posted November 2, 2017 Popular Post Posted November 2, 2017 Not sure how anyone could say Vandy can't compete with IU. At a basketball level, sure, but it's the #14 ranked university in the nation academically. It's also his hometown. If we don't get him, it's not a huge deal. Archie has done a fantastic job in the time he has been here and if this off season is a taste of what's to come, I'm all in. IUsafety, Stuhoo, Stromboli and 6 others 9 Quote

He hasn't even coached a game at IU. The fact that he has these kinds of recruits even interested, along with the current incoming class, is pretty impressive. coonhounds 1 Quote
