For one.. I don't think he's certain, so why rush It?

For two.. dudes trying to win a state title. He doesn't need any other distractions then there already are around his team.

For three.. they've said the whole time they'd announce in the spring.

For four.. this is a business decision, he should literally take all of the alotted time possible. How often do you see an NFL team draft someone right away? Never.. they always take the full amount of time, no reason not to.

For five.. there's literally added pressure on him and his teammates if he commits now. Especially if it's to Indiana.

He can't sign now.. what's it matter when he commits? Do you usually rush kids in making a decision?

Kinda my point.  If it's not IU he's not gonna' announce it now; and if it WERE IU, and it were definite, there would have been no reason not to

Sean may picked North Carolina in the fall and played as season in bloomington after. Most iu fans are classy and aren't going to boo.

Easy

He’s the last big one left ESPN wants him to do it on tv. Not only would this be good for Espn but also good for him and his brand

He has family in Atlanta. All star game is in Atlanta March 28 Espn. Perfect timing.

He has always said spring decision

He wants to focus on this year and make sure with no distractions they win state title.

You done yet or do I need to keep going?

I don't know Romeo as well as most of you do. In fact, I've never met the young man. But has anybody considered this scenario?

He's had enough of IU being crammed down his throat -- case in point, in that video, the chubby fella said he wanted him to go to IU while Romeo sat there, smiling uncomfortably -- and either gets to a point, or has gotten to a point, where he just says: Man, this is just too much. These people are driving me nuts. I need to get away from here. My pal Darius is at Vandy. Shittu is going there. We'll be a great class, we'll have a good team and there won't be all this insanity. I can blend into the crowd at school and just relax and play ball for a year or two before going to the Association.

Trying to read this board and stay out of things has been hard lol, but with recruiting season taking a break for football I have more free time and I'm getting bored already.
Some things I've heard that could help with some interesting topics some have brought up.
1. Juwan Morgan isnt going anywhere. He has complete trust in Archie that he can make him a guaranteed NBA draft pick with another year. Unless we win the B1G tourney and a game or two in the NCAA tourney he will be back.
2. The staff sees DeVonte & Phinisee having a great battle for the pg job but know Green could start beside him as well.
3. Vandy isn't getting Montgomery. He is 90% Duke's and they are actively recruiting plenty others and some wing/guard types if that tells you that they're not sold that they have Romeo like some say they're telling people.
4. I could say Vandy or IU based or credible sources so when things get said, don't take too much consideration with it.
5. I believe Romeo announces at the end of the season. I always thought it'd be by December because I knew he'd be locked in on scoring title and a run at state. Like I said then too if it wasn't by then it wouldn't be anytime until afterwards. I know that to be 99.9% true and it's to focus on his senior year not nothing else. Feelings or fans won't be apart of it.
6. I do know for a fact Garland is very nervous about his decision. He is getting desperate, but maybe just because he doesn't like the waiting game but read what you want.
7. Archie isn't visiting because he would rather wait till sectionals and beyond when he can be there for the big games. Archie had passed that on to Romeo and was a main reason Romeo came to IU on a visit on his own dime for a face to face sooner. I know that to be true as well.
8. Garland played everyone but Vandy so using his recruitment for Romeo's isn't a good idea and anything regarding Romeo when mentioned with Garland needs to be taken with a grain of salt. The want is there for them to play together though.
I don't know which way he's leaning or have a clue to where he will end up but I promise there have been plenty of reasons for IU fans to be optimistic. Just as Vandy should be. I just wanted to share things I knew or have heard to be true at the moment. If he does go to Vandy I really hope he doesn't break the scoring record for selfish reasons of keeping the title in state(going to an Indiana school).

Thanks for a good update. If garland is nervous DMB might be as well. His theory may be way off.

I think Garland is nervous for many reasons. Romeo is only one of them so though I know that to be true I don't know exactly how much stock to put in it. I do find it funny that people use the excuse of not wanting to hurt people or if it was IU why is waiting as negatives against us. The same can be said about waiting with Vandy. They've been the "leaders" for 2 months now why wait? It's very amusing. The Langfords have shot plenty of us down immediately with the combo with Garland. He wants to play with him of course but even I may have put too much stock in that. He is waiting for 2 very big reasons. He is chasing a all time scoring record and focused on winning a state title. Why is that so hard for people to understand?

So, that is the point, like I said earlier. There is no reason or benefit to committing now, even if he knows it’s Indiana. There’s a story to build.

Name one reason I’m committing to Indiana now? Us, Kansas, and Vandy will all have a scholarship for him whenever he wants it. He will continue to have national coverage UNTIL he commits. He is the highest ranked uncommitted high school recruit in the country, and has a few more months to remain the national focus. ZERO reason to commit to any school right now. ZERO benefits.

Dude you claimed facts plenty of times previously and they oddly have not become facts. I feel like claiming to know anything for fact is something you should avoid.

I stopped at the first answer.  We agree. It's not certain.  Good grief, have you read the thread?   A guy on some site said "it's definite."  I said I don't believe that at all.   You seem to agree.  Conversation over.  Nothing else needs to be said.   Sheesh.

I'm laughing.  You don't think he'll have national coverage AFTER (I can yell, too) he commits?   You think "national attention" is why he hasn't announced this "definite" decision yet?  Okay.  Whatever.

Nothing you said here sells me even a little bit.  Just fluff.  So you think he DEFINITELY (see?) has his mind made up, and it's DEFINITELY (kinda fun) Indiana, but because he wants the national coverage (when every record of him compliments his ego), but doesn't want to increase his legend in his home state (which he would do if he committed to Indiana)?   Every school in the country would make room for him.  He could commit to Eastern Washington if he wanted.  So what?

You really don't believe - if his mind were definitely made up - his committing now has any benefits?  That's laughable.  You think kids like the pressure that comes from the question every single day?    Let's start with that in response to "zero' benefits,

I don't know how the kid thinks.  You don't know how the kid thinks.  And there is nothing here (nor anywhere else) that tells me some random poster is right that a decision has DEFINITELY (there I go again) been made, but he's holding his commitment.  Nothing you said makes any sense at all if his decision were definitely IU.

Your last name fits.   Good luck with that.

1)  You assume (I think incorrectly) he cares one bit what ESPN wants.  His "brand" will be fine, and I promise he isn't concerned with it.  I give him a hell of a lot more credit than you do.

2)  He also has family (and millions of friends) in Indiana.   So what?   Again, you're assuming he's a self centered, press conference kid (he is not.  Far from it) who cares more about his image than his home state school...if indeed he has definitely decided.  - And again, that's the argument.  Not whether he ultimately picks Indiana.  I happen to think if he were "definitely" decided, there's far more benefit in announcing his decision for Indiana while IN Indiana, not Atlanta.  This is a grounded, low ego kid we're talking about.  Not some ESPN-made star who's in bed with them   Have you ever heard an interview with him?  Ever heard or talked to his coaches?  You might want to Google some videos if not.

3)  Right.  But you agree it's already been made.  Definitely (or you wouldn't be arguing).   What's your point?  It's not spring yet, so why is his decision "definite" now?

4)  Okay.  Are you serious?  (And yeah...if this is one of your reasons, you do need to keep going because this is idiotic.)  He wants to avoid distractions, so he is holding a "definite" recruiting commitment.  Good Lord.   Think of that logic for a second.  I am literally shaking my head at the ignorance of this. You clearly don't know how recruiting works, so perhaps I need to let you know of the texts from coaches, former players, and any friend who loves a particular school; calls from coaches; questions every day; letters every day....that come until a kid makes a decision.

Every kid in America who commits early says they do so in part to eliminate the distractions that come from the recruitment process; but you think THIS kid doesn't want distractions, so he's not announcing a "definite" IU commit.   Wow.  The ignorance...   This answer was just dumb,   If I were a lawyer, I could rest my case with this, but....

5)  I love this question.   Just love it.  The arrogance with which you asked it is cute.  As if you dropped the mic.  Might want to pick it back up and stammer for a while before you keep going, there "Bragg."   This is a kid you obviously know very little about, and you did not give me an "a ha!" moment.  Keep going if you want to.  Is anything else you have convincing?  If so, it's time for that material.
