Look at all of these candidates jumping at the money and tradition. Man our search committee was awful. Couldn't get Bennett off of an 800000 yearly salary to leave Washington. They couldn't get Sean to leave without having to pay his exit. Yep our committee was awful falling for Crean.

Had Bennett came and had the same success as he had at Virginia, I reluctantly agree with MDN82 that Indiana fans may still have doubted if he were the right guy based on tourney results. There would be more unity than now but still there would be doubters.

The question we have to ask ourselves, and then later remember, is would a guy with high frequency NCAA top 4 seeds but mediocre NCAA results going to be OK here.

IF he can break through and get one championship them the mediocre other years are more tolerable.

It is more likely that we find a frequency guy than the master X and O guy. I would love the X and O genius but acknowledge it will be hard enough finding the frequency guy.

Not exactly an apples to apples comparison.  I can understand bigger name coaches not wanting the job at the time but the program is in a better position now than it was.

no offense taken. Bob knights grudge against IU is completely ridiculous at this point over 16 years later. I think even the biggest bob knight fans would agree with that. I feel like much of that adornment and obsession with him are gone or waning. I personally have no interest in the man as I think he has put himself and his grudge ahead of a lot of people that loved him

So would I but don't cross your fingers on them actually getting hired. We had a chance to go after Brad Stevens a few years ago. We could have went after Shaka Smart who is looking to build Texas into a contender and has a good team down there. It is hard to say whether IU actually wants a good basketball program. Maybe they've forgot about all the profit that can be made from having great teams.

I'd guarantee it. Besides the exposure and fan base we also have improved the facilities since 2008 (cook hall and AH upgrades).
