I wanted to see them do something about the defensive side, and at least they're trying.  I could somewhat understand saying Knorr needed another year, I wasn't sold and our tackling was atrocious, but this doesn't upset me.

You have to think with the way kids build relationships with coaches that we will immediately have interest from SOME prospects that he was a lead recruiter on. His son will be a senior next school year and is a good DE/OLB prospect too. Wonder if he will be transferring to a Bloomington school.

The more I hear from Coach Allen the more I love the move. It sounds like this is the exact position Coach Allen wanted and he made the career moves he made to get this role. He's ready to go!

Just got Thomas Allen's contract in. Seems pretty standard for a DC, employment contingent on Wilson's employment, $500,000 a year, yearly renewal required. All that good stuff.

 

That's a significant raise too right? I remember Knorr was closer to 325? I can remember determining how much cocaine had to be sold to equal his salary, but not what the salary was. Figures.

The reality is that most of us would accept a defense 1/2 as good as our offense.  All we need is average on that side of the ball, to be good.  If we ever get the Defense as good as the offense; we move into the great category.

All I want is a program that regularly makes it to a bowl game and every three or so years is ranked in the top 25. Kind of the Iowa model where they do a great job developing 3-star recruits and fielding a good team when they are upper classmen.
