They're probably trying a number of different treatments to see how the knee responds and hopefully whatever the problem is that it doesn't require surgery.  To say he's out with a knee injury when in in fact there is no injury would be an outright lie and I don't think Crean or Glass would permit that.

I'm not sure we are better or worse without JBJ. Just do not think it makes much difference either way this season. This team as a whole has so many issues across the board and scoring has never been the problem. We can make up JBJ's points and anyone can not play defense. 

 

That said I hope its minor and he is able to play soon.

I know people keep saying this, and his defense is poor so I understand. But, I just don't see him giving up more scores than he makes. And beyond pure production, it gives us an option on offense who other teams can't lose track of because he'll make them pay. So, he helps other players score in a way that I don't know if RoJo or Colin or anyone else can provide. This game will be harder without him.

I agree with you 100% that responses to the speculation are part of the board as well.... And definitely part of the fun is the disagreements to see the other side or other point of view. I guess my point is sometime with reading on a board you can't tell the intent and it can feel like you are being attacked for speculating when specific words are used... (Maybe not the intent at all)

I wrote a longer reply, but I think it's just a wordy way of saying, you're right. It's all about intent. I certainly wasn't intending to be mean about it (and I don't think Hova was either). It's impossible to read tone online, but if we were in person it would be friendly and conversational. Like telling someone they're crazy to think Cook is a better QB prospect than Goff during a draft discussion.

Icing it? If he hasn't practiced or done anything to aggravate it very recently, then he may have had surgery in the last couple of days. You wouldn't ice this long after the initial injury.

True. unless he's icing on the outside of the warmups, it wouldn't be obvious. And if he only ices it for a little while then he may have just tried to move on it before the game to see if he was ready. It's a narrow speculation.

I've seen tweets that he has something on his knee under his warm-ups but that he was not walking with any noticeable limp so I don't think he's had any surgery and hopefully won't have to.  If he had surgery I think there would be some overt signs such as crutches or a clear favoring of that leg.

Yeah, that's great news. He hasn't had any surgical procedures then, including an arthroscopy. So, they diagnosed it on imaging alone and decided it didn't need surgery. That's a great sign considering both his prior conditions.

Eh, also true. It's not a lie to avoid it being found out, it's turning "He needs to stop smoking pot" to "He needs to refocus on basketball", both are true. Stopping smoking is how he is going to refocus and smoking was what was otherwise taking his focus.

With the top doctors on our team, you would think they would figure out whats going on. With that being said, i'm sure they all know what it is, Crean just won't say it.

he was smiling a couple times tonight when we seen him. Can't see him in good spirits if it was serious. I hope anyway but if I am wrong props for keeping his head up

I think Crean should be fired at the end of the year, so I am not covering up for him, but I was 10 feet from Blackmon at Rutgers and he was LIMPING. There was never a rumor that he was connected to last years pot smokers. I really do not think this is some kind of cover-up like some are implying.
