SteelerHoosier Posted November 24, 2015 Posted November 24, 2015 Yeah like I said a win at duke and everything will be good Unless this group gets the want to to play defense for 40 full minutes that is not going to happen Quote
NRT137 Posted November 24, 2015 Posted November 24, 2015 Tom will learn probably a lot from this Quote
NRT137 Posted November 24, 2015 Posted November 24, 2015 Plus the only thing that matters is getting to the final four and this won't hurt our chances at all Quote
SteelerHoosier Posted November 24, 2015 Posted November 24, 2015 Tom will learn probably a lot from this At this point? No. He is who he is. Quote
Alford Bailey Posted November 24, 2015 Posted November 24, 2015 3.2 seconds left and 2 timeouts. Why not call a timeout throw it to half court and call the last one and draw something up? Terrible and embarrassing. Napleshoosier and Bobman1 2 Quote

coonhounds Posted November 24, 2015 Posted November 24, 2015 A duke win and I am still mad we squandered this one. I seen this coming game before last when we looked terrible Quote
MartintheMopMan Posted November 24, 2015 Posted November 24, 2015 Plus the only thing that matters is getting to the final four and this won't hurt our chances at all The lowered rpi and bad loss won't hurt our seeding which will hurt our chances? Oh. Why even bother winning these games anyway? Let's just skip to the tournament! Alford Bailey 1 Quote
CookHallGymRat Posted November 24, 2015 Posted November 24, 2015 "...this team will learn from this." What are they going to learn? Should have learned how to play defense after last year but I didn't see any today. On the whole, I don't think our roster is comprised of truly team oriented players. Too much 'I need to get my stats' for the scouts' mentality. What will they learn? How about Thomas learning to step up and ply big boy ball, and that when Nick Z is hot get him the ball. Not to mention again, the 1/8 shooting day that JBJ had. He needs to know that he can't take plays off. And yes I know he's a sophomore. Quote
NRT137 Posted November 24, 2015 Posted November 24, 2015 I was looking forward to a dominating year, I guess. We do have yogi as our senior pg but that really didn't do anything for us. colonel06 1 Quote
AZ Hoosier Posted November 24, 2015 Posted November 24, 2015 It's a learning experience. Keep in perspective that this is a game. That was as gutless, no-heart performance as I have seen in a while. Wake came to play. IU did not. All that experienced leadership? We blow a nine-point lead down the stretch. Inch-for-inch, Bryant was the worst player on the floor. If that guy is the future of our program, we are screwed. Based on what I saw today, he absolutely cannot defend the paint. Every player on Wake's team schooled him at one point or another. And I keep hearing about this energy he brings- it was absent today. If it weren't so nauseating, I'd go back and see how many layups we gave up, including the game winner with Bryant standing there, letting a player six inches shorter shoot over him. Just awful.I could go on indefinitely about this game, but my blood pressure wouldn't take. I will close with this: if Crean called that last play, he is an idiot. And if Hartman did it on his own, he's the idiot. No inbounds pressure. No Wake player across the ten-second line. Bielfeldt available to receive the ball at half court before the clock ever starts. And what do they do? Throw it the length of the floor into triple coverage, to a player who has stunk it up all day. And this with the floor littered with three-point shooters? That was just plain stupid. Which I guess is OK. IU did not deserve to win that game. Quote
piratehoosier Posted November 24, 2015 Posted November 24, 2015 Only thing I can figure these days is that the Chicago Cubs sneak the goat down to Bloomington and tie him up somewhere within the confines of Assembly Hall. Alford Bailey 1 Quote

JaybobHoosier Posted November 24, 2015 Posted November 24, 2015 Wow, just wow. Troy and Yogi killed us at the end with their selfish play. Crean not using his timeouts till we fall behind or it gets close. We run a freaking hurl play at the end with almost 4 freaking seconds? That is the most ....... Not smart thing I've ever seen in basketball. What in the world was coach thinking???? I'm not as mad at Crean as I am the players. We got selfish down the stretch, and quit attacking the middle to find the open man. Not to mention we couldn't rebound to save our lives. So disappointed in how even though we have senior leadership, we still faltered and went to one-on-one ball. I can handle losing, but that was terrible! colonel06 1 Quote
