this brings up a question I was wondering. Wont adding all these teams possibly give a team a unfair advantage to win the conference by having a easy schedule

Personally I would think this would be a great time to split the conferences in a similar way to football (maybe rethink that alignment as well).  You would have 7 teams in each division so you would have 6 teams you would play home/away, making that 12 games.  Then you would play the 7 teams from the other division giving you a 19 game conference season and everyone in each division a very similar strength of schedule (within the conference and not taking into account any home/away differences in those 7 games).  The only imbalance, would possibly come from one division being better than the other but it would be a lot better than the current random scheduling.  Then you have the BTT set up with two sides split by the divisions, and the top team from each division gets the first round bye.

Or you could even go with how the tournament is set now and rank the teams 1-14 as it is now.

Not a bad proposal, but I think a much cleaner way to do it would be to give every team one protected rivalry. Proposed concept would be-

-Protected Rival (2x, home and away, last game of the season reserved)

-3 pools of 4 teams rotated as 2x, H, and A groups.

This maintains the current number of conference games, creates a regular rotation, and protects rivalries. Rivalries would look something like-

IU/Purdue, Michigan/Michigan State, Wisconsin/Minnesota, Iowa/Nebraska, Illinois/Northwestern, Rutgers/Maryland, Penn-State/OSU

Isn't Kennessaw State the team we played a couple years ago where Crean said it was "like playing an SEC team," even though they had won like 10 games over the last two seasons?

i don't remember that but I'm laughing so hard

I don't remember exactly which extra fluffy cupcake he referred to, but it may have been them.  I mean I know he SEasy barely has a pulse, but they're not THAT bad.

Yes, I went to that game. Was also the game that pushed me to never spend my hard earned $$ on one of these cupcakes again.
