IU vs that school in ohio...

There is real consideration about bringing College Gameday to Bloomington but I think there are some obvious risks/rewards that we need to think about. If we play competitively and keep the game somewhat close (or win?), it brings respect and some obvious national attention to the program. It would get the fanbase fired up and some recruits might take notice. The risk? we get blown out of the water and everyone laughs at us for even thinking we could compete, which also doesn't bode well for recruiting.

In fairness, we've been being laughed at longer than a couple years past forever, so what do we really have to lose? I don't think a blowout loss to #1 will do a whole lot to Wilson's recruiting momentum. Rewards greatly outweigh the risks, in my opinion.

Yeah you're right about being the laughingstock of the Big Ten for years but I think most people believe the tides are turning under Wilson and the program is heading in the right direction. I think if it's a complete blowout (ala Wisconsin hanging 83 points on us in 2010), all the improvement talk goes out the window and reminds everyone of just how bad the program is. But the reward is also equally as high. I think either way, it's a high risk/high reward scenario.
