I know everyone wants Garland and fair enough, but it'll take a strong effort to get him over Duke. Robert should get almost as much attention as Garland if not more, because we NEED a PG in that class. Him along w CuJo, a senior Morgan, DD, Smith & hopefully Tucker as well as Green is a solid nucleus for a good year. Crean has impressed me the last 2 years. I think this program is going upwards fast.

I live in Kokomo and McCutcheon is coming here to play Friday the 9th of December, I will be there. If anyone else on here is going to the game I'd love to meet some of you.

Got to love Memorial Gymnasium.  Got to play there on a few occasions.

In the opening round of the JC Hoops Classic in Lafayette, McCutcheon defeated Lafayette Central Catholic 82-38 - LCC is only a 2A school so it was a mismatch from the opening tipoff.  McCutcheon to play West Lafayette HS Friday night.   Phinisee scored 16 second-half points and finished with a game-high 22 to go with five assists. Phinisee made a buzzer-beating layup at the end of the first half and another buzzer beater from 3 to end the third quarter and put the Mavericks (2-0) ahead 61-31.

Should be a good one against West Laffy

Is this PG prospect projected to be a Burger Boy level player like Yogi? Because if not, I'd rather not go back to short guards again. We never play good enough help D to cover up for lack of size. I'd prefer athletic tall backcourt. Unless we are talking true 5 Star talent.

You want the Indiana kids that want to be at Indiana. (See: IU vs IPFW)

I'm sure most of you know this but CC id usually one of the best low A schools in Indiana in all sports. As a student who used to attend a small Indiana school I have an absolute hatred of them and am glad the phinisee took it to them

If you're IU I think you put equal resources here as you do Garland. PG is paramount in '18. Garland has some connections and is the better talent, but there is no getting around the competition and IU doesn't always provide the best avenue. Phinisee is a different player, but very, very good.

I think IU would be silly not to pursue this full throttle but Crean, in particular, has fooled me before. Seems like he's making a lot of IU games so it seems they feel the same.

Totally agree and as you stated, from outward appearances there is definite mutual interest.  Strictly from Phinisee's standpoint he can plainly see we don't have a true PG on this year's team and we don't have one committed for '17 so as it stands today, he can come in '18 and get the keys to the car from day one.  I certainly hope that happens.

Is Purdue after him as much as we are?

I'm not sure if he's a lean there or not, but I'd imagine with Edwards there and Eastern next year, maybe he's not as much of a priority as he would have been.

What pap said makes the most sense; put equal time into both and hope one of them says yes.
