(2016) SF Mario Kegler to Miss State

Recommended Posts

The Zagsblog post is interesting. Reading between the lines it sounds like Kegler wants to play with Davis ----instead of Kegler dragging Davis to MSU---maybe Davis will drag Kegler to IU!  I read on ITH that only a little over 3000 showed up for MSU's practice while Davis was there.  For someone who dreamed of playing big time ball his whole life it makes no sense to pick MSU over IU.  All the things they talked about at MSU--strength, facilities, and academics are better at IU.  No brainer----pick the stripes!

We are starting to see a lot of good recruiting in the SEC this past year: Auburn, LSU, Miss St. Pure speculation, but I wonder if in a few years we see some NCAA violations arise from this recent surge?

Its possible. I see it more as there is just a ton of room for growth with basketball in the SEC. With the SEC Network and such schools are going after that revenue.

I think it's the massive revenue boost combined with some of the stuff talked about in the recruiting thread. It's easier than ever to research recruits, contact them from a distance, and sell your school as a place with a future. This reduces the influence of traditional blue bloods. Plus, there are kids who see college ball as a stop-off to the NBA and don't think they need a school with tons of tradition and a rowdy fanbase to turn on them when they decide to be one-and-done.

They're wrong most of the time and it may hurt their long-term development, but that's what they seem to think.
