Summer Workout Video

Recommended Posts

Video is awesome.

Juwan Morgan is a kid who got really good in high school apparently w/o ever working hard on strength and conditioning. He's also a really smart kid who will keep his head on straight, be an academic achiever, and develop like crazy. Great to see him fully in the mix watching guys like Rojo and Nick Z killing it!

PS: Where's Max?

Its kind of dead here on the board so here's something to look at.

RoJo and Holt look to me to be much stronger than last season.

I got so exhausted after watching that workout, I just went ahead and made an appointment with my local undertaker.

And as for where's Max?  I think it may be easier to find Waldo!

I like the enthusiasm from the new strength; its what's to be expected. Let's be honest though. How many more wins is a gimmicky gas mask chasing each other around cones and bouncing a huge medicine ball gonna get us this coming year? Will it make us a tougher team? Will this increase the chance of injuries that lag into the season. My answers are no and probably yes. I would much rather see them working on defensive fundamental drills so in year 8 us alumni and fans may have belief we can play it. I understand Crean probably can't be there now during these drills, but an ex football player may have an idea of playing physical. The players also get the benefit of Crean not being there.

It doesn't matter who's there. They can only do 2 hours a week of actual drills, which are also shown in the videos. I'm confused by your overall point...are they supposed to be doing only drills instead of getting bigger, faster, stronger? If so, I would say leave it to the guy that gets paid a lot of money to keep them healthy. Or do you just not want to see them working out? If so, I would say don't watch the videos.

They can get bigger, faster, and stronger somewhere other than the court chasing each other in ridiculous gas masks. My opinion is use the court for teaching some defense that has been basically non existant in Crean's tenure or hire someone who can teach it. Leave the strength & conditioning coach to weight room related activities. Of course, you don't have to agree...for all I know this new addition just may be the defensive coach we have all been waiting.

So let me get this straight...the basketball team...shouldn't use the basketball court...to condition...for basketball season...?
