How any basketball fan couldn't enjoy this game is beyond me

Because people wanna complain that "it's the NBA" even though it's the best game/product of basketball on the planet. I wish I could have watched. Will get to watch game 2!!!!

I complain about the NBA. It's not a uniform game. What is a travel for one player is not the same for another. What's an offensive foul for one player is a foul on the defensive player going the other way. From a purely entertainment standpoint it's great but I wouldn't call carrying the ball every time you dribble "great basketball." Being able to cradle the ball and take as many steps as you need to get to the rim is not good basketball either.

I do appreciate how the Spurs have been able to pick apart defenses in past playoffs. I do like watching Curry and Thompson rain threes.

Like I said, I love both games. I'm just a basketball junkie, and watch a ton of college and NBA. But I scratch my head a bit when people complain about the NBA, yet I see so many college games where the final score is 54-50 and both teams shot 40% or less from the field. In college there is a more consistent effort game-to-game, I'll give that point, but the skill level in the NBA is on a complete other planet compared to college.

The skill level of the players in the NBA is off the charts.

Unfortunately it's getting there. It's the marketability of the "game" so of course it's going to change.

CBB is even less of a uniform game. Especially from an officiating standpoint. The officiating in CBB is probably the worst of any sport. Not only is it greatly different from game to game but also half to half. It's quite embarrassing. If you're going to complain about NBA officiating (which is improving yearly) then you gotta complain more about CBB officiating.

NBA has been ruined by the ESPN culture. ESPN just continually pumps up people like Lebron James and other superstars. This finals series is killing ESPN because Lebron is the underdog. The last few years with the Spurs and now the Warriors has shown that a TEAM is more valuable than a couple superstars playing together. I hope the Warriors crush the Cavs

Have you ever heard of Steph and Riley Curry? That's the Warriors two Superstars.

I find it funny that people want to complain that there's "no defense" in the NBA or that they travel on every play.

A lot like holding in football, you could likely call a travel on almost every possession of a basketball game at any level. It's called when it's blatantly obvious or disturbs the run of play. I will always prefer watching college basketball from an emotional standpoint, but watching an NBA game can be breathtaking. The level of play, especially in the playoffs, is amazing to see. Every single player can preform at a high level. It's a joy to watch.

But not the ESPN-hype machine super stars. The casual fans aren't that intuned to them.

everyone knows who Steph Curry is if you watch ESPN once a month. There ate two Superstars in this. Instead of complaining you could watch one of the greatest players to ever play in LeBron James. I bet people didn't act like this with MJ.

It's an ESPN thing now, but that goes back to David Stern when the league was in a deep hole after the cocaine days. Stern made it a point to pump up superstars to get more fans/butts in seats so the league wouldn't tank. ESPN has definitely taken it to another level though, to a point where I haven't watched more than 10 minutes of Sportscenter in about a year.

Do they still run Sportscenter back to back to back to back to back to back in the morning? Haven't bothered watching Sportscenter in years

Yep. If you miss the segment on what color socks RG3 is wearing at 9:27, turn on ESPN at 10:27 and you'll be fine.

agreed. I used to watch sportscenter/ESPN religiously back in high school but they are truly becoming god awful.
