I never thought we wouldn't play 3 guards this year, but now the inevitable is doubly inevitable.

Starters
Yogi
Troy
JBJ
RoJo
Bryant

Bench

Colin - 6th man
Z3 - same role as last year
Holt - same role as last year

Juwan & OG- ? Can either come in and fill a role? The opportunity is there for the taking young fellas.

MSB - crowd favorite & patron saint of the painfully awkward

Wildcards

Burton - not the type of guy you want to rely on but he didn't suck

The two guys CTC brings in because he won't hold the scholies.

I would prefer not to bring in two freshman. Any transfers who could give us some minutes up front? Any legitimate jucos? I would love to find a viable 6'8ish junk yard dog type juco.

And for that viable 6'8ish junk yard dog type JUCO to be allergic to marihuana and alcohol. He only gets his fix by spending hours in Cook Hall.

That could easily be Juwan Morgan's spot. He is 6' 8" and if he spends all this time in Cook Hall, he could be a bigger plus for us than DD. Morgan has a shot and has a low post game while DD's offense consisted of put backs

Unfortunately it seems like it's back to CTC's small ball, which I don't like. I rarely expect much from Freshmen, e.g. Morgan and OG, unless they're exceptionally talented like Bryant and I love Holt (So.), but I haven't seen him hit a jumpshot yet. Perea and DD blew it for them and the team (Although I still don't know what the specific accusation was for HP. I assume he was getting high). I expected HP and DD to be better players and improved/solid rebounders against the "Big Boys" we'll be playing in Hawaii this Fall and beyond. Most good replacements, at this stage, are already taken by other teams so unless we can get one more strong Frontcourt player, I'm concerned about the lack of good experienced depth in the Frontcourt. I would have suspended them for the Maui trip and another six games personally.

If we start Johnson then we'll have the exact same team as last year... how much fun that'll be... Johnson needs to come off the bench. Learn to be a PG abs cut down on his TO's. I'd rather see a starting lineup of Yogi, JBJ, Troy, Colin and Bryant.

I didn't realize we had Thomas Bryant last year.

I don't expect Bryant to come in and be Zeller or Vonleh, but he WILL be a huge upgrade from Perea. I don't think most people realize just how terrible Perea was. I just want us to get a 6'10"+ guy who can play ten minutes of defense a game. I don't care what else he can do.

What will be the difference? We don't actually know how good Bryant is yet. He's still a freshman. I'm not going to project him to be a Cody Zeller or Noah Vonleh yet. We'll still really suck at defense if we start 3 guards. Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again expecting a different result... does that explain our coaching staff a little?

Hey, I am completely with you on our coaching staff. They are terrible. I also don't know if we are going to be significantly better than the team that lost ten out of our last fifteen games. All I am saying is that Thomas Bryant is going to be an upgrade, not because he is going to be great, but because Perea was absolutely AWFUL. If Bryant can stand in the paint with his hands straight up in the air instead of using them to protect himself on a flop, Bryant will be an upgrade.

We still had a massive problem with our perimeter defense. Everyone was just awful last year. It was so embarrassing. Yogi, JBJ, RJ, Troy and Nick... none of them were any good last year. Absolutely pathetic effort every night. Defense is 90% effort. The team didn't have that last year. The football team had a better defense last year.

The depth chart keeps changing!  I for one would welcome a recruit who was a little raw offensively if his scouting report said he is known as a tenacious and lockdown defender with a high motor and great court awareness who hustles for every loose ball and is always in the face of the opposing player looking for the steal or to create a turnover.  Sign him up.
