Stan Robinson transferring

Recommended Posts

Is it just me or does bad mouthing current or former players not make our fan base look bad? Just a question . It's not like Stan was a rapist or some other hardend criminal like is supported by other university's.

It really does make us look bad these are kids we are talking about here

side note: what i find hilarious is that a lot of people ive seen comment on stan leaving, on this site, ith, twitter and elsewhere are saying he was the subject of being "creaned" (i hate that term by the way), but just months ago people wanted him kicked off the team....

Fort Wayne, I may also be guilty of harsh judgements upon learning about happenings over the summer maybe that was wrong I don't know. I just wish Stan and us the best moving forward.

He should have been kicked off the team, but he wasn't. Are we to believe that judgement was reserved until after the season? If that's the case, crean has really outdone himself. If his transgression was worthy of excommunication from IU bball then it should have happened at the time. Not many months later.

This was a creaming pure and simple. A player transferring for what would appear to be to make room for players who will one say transfer themselves. And we wonder why we are perpetually young. Very little upper class leadership

I think more than anything he realized his playing time went down from last year to this year. JBJ, Rob, Yogi, and Troy will only get better and get more ball handling time so I think Stan saw the righting on the wall. He didn't add anything to the team this year except problems in the off season. I'd take OG and Juwan Morgan over Stan any day

Why would you take them over Stan? They've never played 1 game of college ball. Let's not pretend these guys are 5 star guys. Stan was a decent in ball defender to boot, who else on the team can you say that about?

Let's not forget what a team full of junior and seniors can do. Hulls, Vic, watford, elston. Instead we have no seniors or maybe 1 or two

Whatever man, I wasn't trying to make you look any worse than what you already did. That's all I have to say! Pm if you want to take it further.

It was gonna be tough for Stan to get decent playing time on this team. We're debating on Crean not playing a true power forward based on his lack of perimeter shooting. As long as Stan's shooting range was around the charge arc and not the 3 point arc, his days around here were numbered; off-court transgressions notwithstanding.

I'm a little torn on Stan.

I loved his freshman year and had high hopes for him. After he go in trouble a few times I decided that Crean should have kicked him off the team. I think that players should only get so many chances on stuff like that.

In the end he played more minutes than he deserved all year, and played poorly in those minutes. Wichita State was probably his best game of the season unless I am forgetting something. It is sad to see a player that I thought had a ton of potential go through the trouble and poor play and become a "least favorite" in my eyes.

Maybe IU was not a great fit for him in the end, but I wish him the best of luck and success where ever he ends up.

I'll still never forget him driving to the lane against Wisconsin his freshman season and practically willing us that game over and over. Maybe the worst IU team in sometime was able to beat them for a change.

Then why even....

1. Recruit him to begin with. Poor scouting

2. Not teach him to shoot. Poor coaching

The difference is that Crean kept him for as long as Crean thought Stan could help him. When it ended, Crean pushed him out. That is the essence of being "creaned". And the term is quite appropriate, IMO.
