2015 #IUBB Offseason Thread

This is from an interview with top recruit Jaylen Brown. This is what we are recruiting against!

What’s your take on Kentucky?
Kentucky is probably the best basketball program in America. I took a lot of visits and nobody basketball program was as good as Kentucky. In the gist of things basketball is what I’m going to do with my life and basketball is important, but nobody’s basketball program is probably as good as Kentucky just with their facilities and how they operate. It’s just so professional and it’s ridiculous. I saw it with my own eyes. Kentucky, I just have so much respect for that program.

i just gagged reading that

Best quote of that article:

But on Monday, Bryant told Jones that he has not heard from both Syracuse and Kentucky since January, and that Indiana is currently recruiting him the hardest. “They send me a ton of damn letters,” he said. He also said that he is under the impression that there is a scholarship available for him at Syracuse.

Clearly he expects Crean to kick some one out to make room for himself.

i don't think so.. But who knows. Maybe. Yogi?? A just in case, hopefully.

That's what I've been thinking regarding Mulder and Jamal Murray. Crean needs to be sure there's a foundation and relationship built with a 2015 PG in case Yogi leaves.

I don't really think he will though. I feel like he wants to win for IU and go down as a legend here.

From UL recruiting article:

Meanwhile, Mulder, a native of Ontario, Canada, leads Vincennes at 14.9 points per game and has been strong from long range, making 74 of 156 3s (46.8 percent). He's a much different kind of player than a quick-burst combo guard like Myers.

"He's the true shooting guard, 6-4, 6-5, pure perimeter wing," Winton said. "He's a good shooter. He shoots it at a high level."

Winton said it's unnecessary for Mulder to put up huge numbers for Vincennes, which has a loaded roster with multiple offensive threats, but Winton said if he played on a lesser juco team, he could average over 20 points.

Winton believes he could be an effective role player at a high-major college if he could gain some muscle to handle the step-up in physical play.

"He's a good athlete, gets to the rim pretty well, has a great understanding of the game," he said. "He would transition pretty well from that standpoint, just being able to pick things up" in advanced Division I systems.
