Where is money made? UNC actually has a good football program as does KU. UK gets a ton of money from being in the SEC.

I don't know about the other conferences, but there is less stress in the B1G to have a successful football program. I'm going off memory, but due to the shared revenue setup I believe each school made $8m from the schools who participated in Bowl games. So IU got $8m just because. That's not incentive to be good. That's incentive to just field a team unfortunately.

check again Kansas has had 10 wins in 5 seasons.
UK hasn't been above .500 in a long long time
UNC hovers .500 in a great ACC

Come on dude, know what you're talking about.

How often is Kansas going to a bowl? Same as UNC? Again UK blows at football. Don't see what is so hard. UK is the only "basketball" school that disregards football. Come on dude, know what you're talking about.

Kansas has only been to 7 bowls in their history. So yeah, they suck.

Just read a Kent Sterling article about all of this. His last paragraph summed it up nicely.

"Ask yourself, what would Kansas do? North Carolina? Kentucky? Louisville? It may soon be time for athletics director Fred Glass to put on the big boy candy striped pants and make a very big decision."

True but 4 of those have been over last 12 years. I think most on here would agree we would be happy if IU was in the same boat right now. All I have said is the only basketball program to truly ignore their football program is UK. Football just brings in more revenue than basketball due to tv and revenue sharing as well as the ability to pack more people in the stadium for the 7 home games per season.

Actually, your right. But there is something about it that smacks of arrogance to me. Am I the only one?

The only thing we can hope is he is thinking the exact opposite as what he is saying. If this is true then why even agree to do an interview. Almost has to be some truth to what he is saying.

New Glass comments to ESPN

A few that I found interesting.

"I'm bullish on Tom," Glass told ESPN. "He's done a really good job with these guys. It's ridiculous to say that someone is coaching for his job for one game and that it would be up or down in one game."

Glass said he met with Crean on Wednesday and reassured him about his job security.

"He's a great coach," Glass said. "He has my full support. I have a great deal of confidence in Tom's body of work. This team overachieved early and then hit a tough patch."

"There is a sense that Tom is only keeping his job because of the buyout," Glass said. "And while that's a big number and a significant amount of money, that's not what is keeping him in the job. I think he needs to be the coach ... I want him to be the coach here."

"The rise and fortunes of Indiana (athletics) is with Indiana basketball," Glass said. "Everybody thinks the guy with the clipboard, the next guy, can be better. But starting over is overrated. You can't be willy-nilly about it."

I know there's going to be some political speak involved.  The guy is a lawyer by trade and it wouldn't be smart to say "Crean has proven himself to be subpar, he should be worried", but I think he goes overboard with some of the things he says.  I mean Crean has only proven that he's mediocre at best, and no one with half a brain can look at his body of work and actually be confident.

And that "rough patch", was playing real teams on a regular basis instead of a couple good teams mixed in with a load of cupcakes.

At this point I agree. Previously I felt Fred was just saying what he had to publicly. Now I believe there is some truth to it because this current media blitz doesn't seem necessary. I feel like he is calling us stupid for questioning Crean or himself, and that pisses me off. His fate may be tied to Crean's more than we know.
