Potential coaching change suggestions

Recommended Posts

1. Stevens

2. Donovan

3. Marshall

That would be my list. Stevens would have to be top priority.

Say we can't lure any of those 3... How would you like us to proceed? Just honest curiosity because I don't know how I would like it to go

Wonder if Jay Wright would ever leave Nova. Dave Rose from BYU has a career .745 winning %. Just an interesting prospect I saw. I'm totally spitballing here.

I'm not really that big on Gregg Marshall. Idk why, he just doesn't do it for me. We aren't getting the mayor of Ames out of Ames. And if you think our defense is bad now...watch some Cyclone basketball. I've made my stance on Shaka known here before. His style is a gimmick and I am not a fan of gimmicks. Stevens, Donovan, Sean Miller, and I like Archie Miller a little bit too. Unfortunately I don't see those being too realistic and that is mighty disappointing.

Has to be a home run.

Not really. There is another layer between for coaches like Bo and Matta. Guys that compete yearly for their conference title but have not won a championship. Those guys would be a triple and that would be better. Heck even a strong double would be better.

I would say a triple or double would be the worst thing for the program. Because if we have a guy like Matta, he's great but now we're 10 years in the future and we have yet to get another title.

Im not saying we have to get an elite coach, but a lot of names will get thrown out and if IU is gonna pay big money, they need a big time coach. I don't think we should go for a coach from one of these small schools that occasionally make a run.

If we don't go for a game changer, we will be back here at the same crossroads in 5 years. We settled with Mike Davis, Sampson, and with Crean. We don't need to settle, we need to go out and fight for a coach.

This is still Indiana, let's not settle for a Ben Jacobson.

I agree, but he is a guy whose name is starting to get mentioned. We all know what Indiana is capable of. I want a hire that will compliment our resources and make everyone else go "Oh s***...." when reading the hiring headline. OSU, Michigan, and Alabama's most recent football HC hires elicted such reactions.

After tonight's loss, I think we can expand upon the list of candidates who would easily raise the quality of basketball here at IU:

1. The chick at the Marathon gas station on 10th st.

2. Most any of the stock boys at the Kroger on College Ave.

3. The Janitor at Bloomington South

4. Anyone possessing a University of Phoenix online degree

5. H&R Block associates.

6. Any patient not confined to a bed, and within reasonable possession of their faculties at the Bloomington Nursing and Rehabilitation Center

7. Brian Willams
