IU vs. Purdue Postgame Thread

Recommended Posts

I didn't see the entire game, but I didn't see IU go to a zone defense (maybe they did). If Purdue's strength are their big guys down low why not zone them especially when Octeus fouled out and Scott replaced him. Leave Scott open like they leave Troy open and take your chances with Scott taking an outside shot. Additionally, why not have Scott's man double the post. I'm pretty sure Scott is not a good 3-point shooter.

I'm tired of crean using the excuse that we are a young team. If we are a young team then call a timeout and coach them before the off balance shot by yogi. So pissed. Wasted a trip from ftw to btown to watch us lose to a team that we shouldn't have at home. Terrible I'm not giving crean a pass on this game

Thats exactly why I havent gone to a game this year. Too far to drive home pissed, LOL.

Only thing I'll add is we honestly had no business winning that game. So maybe the 3 was the smart move, PU controlled the final 30 minutes.

we should've had that game in the bag from start. Got up 8 and he pulls three starters. Changed whole game. Then starting five wasn't even back on court til 5 min left in game. I get the point of you saying had no business winning cuz way game went but shouldve never got to that point

So did Zeisloft miss a team meeting or something? Why didn't he play at all?

He played a few minutes, couple soft fouls per usual. When Purdue went to the reverse zone and 1(hammons/haas guarding the paint), he was pretty much useless.

Exactly. Once Purdue got the pace slowed way down, we were toast. With the block party that happened in Stinktown, IU was afraid to drive in the halfcourt the rest of the game.

We missed too many shots.  Waaaay too many.  No production off the bench either.  Yuck.

Matt Painter finished dead last in the Big Ten the last two years in a row.  He swept us this year.
