Too busy cleaning up after Greg Anthony and his hooker to rank teams this week. You get a bye this week, CBS.

We beat Illinois minus Ray Rice and Tracy Abrams, their starting back court done for the season.  Yes, they had some depth going into the season, and the replacements are playing well, but now they are pretty much replacing their starters with 3rd stringers now jostling for backup roles behind the young guys on the team who were supposed to be backups.  Illinois is in 10th place, and falling. Was that a B1G road win for us?  Yes.  It was huge.  Is that the kind of win that is going to make the sportswriters do a Scooby "Huh?" and catapult us past teams those guys picked to finish higher than 9th in their conferences?

Idk.

I am glad we took care of business in Champaign finally.  We always seem to let that one slip through our fingers.

Let's go get Maryland now.  And introduce them to B1G Ten basketball at Assembly Hall.  And exact some payback for that National Title Game, the only National Title Game I have ever seen Indiana lose.

Georgia at 11-5 gets a vote over us? Just crazy!

Illinois was a HUGE win! They were listed as a bubble team on ESPN.com and coming off wins at Northwestern and home against Maryland w/o Rice in those 2 games as well. We've got wins over 3 ranked opponents and we're 4-1 in the B1G. IMO we should be ranked.

Check out the latest CBS sports bracket. IU #9 would play #1 UK in 2nd round in Louisville. How many people would like to see this happen?

Kentucky is the one team in the country I honestly see us having zero chances of beating. Their length, depth at big man would utterly destroy us.

Don't confuse this with me not loving our team and thinking we are going to have a good season. Kentucky's strength is 99% of our weakness. It would be ugly plain and simple.

That being said, our ability to shoot and come back from double digit deficits plays nicely for us in March should we get the right kind of draw. Sweet 16 and I'd be THRILLED this year. I think we are a year or two + a legit big man away from possibly contending.

I totally agree with you on the inside game. However their weakness is defending the perimeter. If JBJ has a killer instinct in him at all then this would be a huge game for him.

Don't get me wrong I would never place any money on the Hoosiers to win that game, but I would love to see it. A lot of things would have to go right for us, and I am not sure we would drive the ball enough to get them in any signifigant foul trouble since they have 4-5 big men that play and are very serviceable. I would say one of our only chances would be to trade 2 for 3 throughout the game and hope that the refs have a really loose whistle.

That being said with it being in Louisville I would hope that our fans showout just as loud and crazy as those Wildkitty fans.

I am also hoping that we play well enought throughout the rest of the season to earn better than a #9 seed and won't have to play a team like UK in the 2nd or even 3rd round!!!
