Emmit Holt watch

= why is he only playing a few minutes a game? He and Johnson are the future of this recruiting class. He needs more time on the court. Deserves more time

Because HMP is the present of this year and also needs the time if we want to be competitive.

Perea is playing too well right and he needs run. He is our future for next year also,

I would say if he gets anymore minutes he should start also serving some spot minutes at the 4 with a rotation of him and Hartman, but put Williams at the 3. Now that looks like a decent size unit.

ROJO

BLACKMAN

TW

HARTMAN/HOLT

PEREA

If I'm coach, I'm putting that unit on the floor against bigger team when possible.

HMP has looked better as the season has gone on but I think Holt is the present and the future. He is a better defender, shot blocker, rebounder, scorer now and in the future

So you'd scrap Hanner completely? We will not be capable of winning anything this year or next without Hanner. He has shown vast improvement this year, and right now, has a better chance of being able to battle at the 5.

I would bring him in off the bench for Holt. 25 for Holt and 15 for HMP. Holt passes the eye test and the stats test. He is our more polished "big"

I don't think having Troy, Holt, and Perea on the floor at the same time is a good idea with Crean's offense.  Only having two capable outside shooters would completely destroy the spacing needed for our offense to work.

Obviously the coaching staff disagrees. Since they see the most of Holt, I'm pretty inclined to defer to them on this one at least. I think he looks great out there, but I think Hanner has looked better these last couple of games.

I would like to see the side by side stats and holts prorated based on his limited minutes.

The coaches know more isn't a la carte. Have you ever disagreed with the minutes he plays certain players? Substitutions and the timing of them? Players recruited? Number of scholarships offered and to whom? Number over signed? Plays run? Etc.

Why does coach know more here but questioned by you and others, including myself in so many other areas that he has more insight into?

Sorry, not meant to be an attack. I just see a better, more polished product on the court when Holt is in. HMP has looked good at times but has not been consistent. I just think it is possible that Crean could be sticking with a guy even though a younger guy has proved he is the better option

Holt's per minute numbers are better pretty much across the board.  However, I still prefer him coming off the bench.  The chemistry is good right now, and I think he helps the rebounding and hustle of the second unit.  I would prefer to see Hanner and Holt get pretty much equal minutes on the floor, with each at about 20 a game.  I think for rim protecting and rebounding purposes one of those two has to be on the court at all times.

nice post. I don't think either is the clear cut better player right now which is why we are debating a but here, I just prefer Holts game over Pereas. What I don't like is Holts limited minutes. Even if he is coming in off the bench, no reason he shouldn't be on the court at least 15 minutes a game
